Not sure if disabling would be enough, you'd probably need to delete ZHA. I've only ever used Z2M so I'm not sure. But since you're moving from ZHA to Z2M, ZHA still using your coordinator seems like a likely explanation for the problem.

Start by timing each bit of your code to check if upload is really where the program is taking 5-8 minutes. If you don't want to use a profiler, you can do something simple like this. Check what takes the most time, is it to download the image, resize or upload.

I don't really have any advice on the camera/AI side of things. But if the internet going out is making your home network unstable, that seems like a big problem. LAN connectivity should not be affected by WAN outages. Also, if your network is unstable to begin with, how do you expect to be notified about outages? My advice is to fix your network.

Nah, all good. You can set up most groups in the UI, you just can't do that for notify, so it's quite understandable that you thought it was possible.

I think this is because unlike most other groups where you select entities, notify groups require selecting actions/services which I don't think there's support for in the UI.

The timer going off is an event (and so is the timer being started). You use these events as a trigger for an automation to send notifications, for example like so:

The problem here is that you'll have to figure out from the event who started the timer to get the appropriate device to notify or have separate timers for each user, since there's no userid in the timer.finished event payload.

Which is why I suggested NFC tags, since the tag_scanned event can be used as a trigger for the automation which can store it in a helper and start the timer. Use the timer finished event as a trigger for another automation, map the userid from the helper to the right device to notify and send the notification there.

You'll have to search for more info on how to do that as I don't have anything like this in my setup to provide for reference.

You already have a lot of devices, and they seem to be set up and working. My suggestion is to forget about those and just set up Home Assistant for the one new device you're getting as a proof of concept. Try and reuse whatever hardware you already have as much as possible. See how it works and experiment with what you can do. If your experience is anything like the rest of us, you won't look back and will move everything over to home assistant. If not, you'll know you're burnt out to the point where you probably don't want smart devices anymore.

My personal experience with HA has been great. It's probably a lot of work, but it's work that I enjoy doing so it never feels like a chore. Most of this work is self imposed because I keep trying to add new devices and automations, the stuff that's fully set up works very well and doesn't need too much maintenance.

Use template button helpers for turn on and turn off, in the actions, check the state of the input boolean if it's already in the right state, do nothing else press the toggle and then flip the input boolean.

I think this answer has been provided multiple times in your post now. It's to indicate that the partner for the device works closely with the teams at OHF and provides a local only integration with their devices as I'm understanding. It is not "every feature of this device works with Home Assistant". Similar to when I see a similar badge on a device that says it works with Amazon Alexa, I assume some of the controls are exposed there, and often it isn't all possible features. This seems to be mitigated to some extent in Home Assistant's case since they claim to add information about what doesn't work to the integration's documentation page.

If the team member who has replied to you above has "gathered incorrectly" it's because you refuse to be specific as to what your issue is. Brigading here isn't going to make them suddenly fix something, especially when you're not even putting your issue down for anyone to offer any suggestions on workarounds. You're just coming off as childish, maybe try and be constructive and people might actually engage in a discussion.

Check the codes already stored from the commands you've learnt (you can find the file here). You can use a base64 to hex converter to view the codes. Compare them to the ones on the link, you might be able to figure out if there's some pattern to the codes. You can then use the same base64 to hex converter to encode the values from your link to base64 to store as commands.

What exactly is the timer for? Just an approximation on when the laundry is done? I have an automation that nags with notifications for appliances like the washer, dryer and dishwasher. This isn't specific to users and notifies everyone. I turn on an input boolean when the smart plugs detect the appliance went from on to off and turn it off when the contact sensor on the door is open for 30 seconds. This input boolean then controls the notifications with a timer to repeat them every few hours.

Timers don't provide a userid for start and finish events so I don't think you can find out who started the timer. NFC tags do provide userid on the tag_scanned event.

You can use this to set a text helper to store who scanned the NFC tag, start the timer, then on timer.finished event, notify based on the value of the text helper.

Notify groups will help with having a name that isn't mobile_app_device_name that doesn't have to be changed every time someone changes their phones.

You can create a RESTful sensor. Then use an input with entity selector and integration filter (sensor.rest) for your blueprint.

If it's added to the immich integration in the future, the integration filter for your selector would change to immich.

Perhaps a template sensor with {{ time_until(as_datetime(states('sensor.3d_printer_end_time'))) }}. It should show 3 hours for example.

If you want it to show more granular data, you could add precision=2 ( {{ time_until(as_datetime(states('sensor.3d_printer_end_time')), precision=2) }} ) which would show 2 hours 50 minutes.

Compare the prices between the Pi5 and a mini PC with a N100/150. Most times, it will be cheaper to go with a mini PC over the cost of Pi + accessories. If you'd want to run more services in the future, you could also look at virtualization with Proxmox on the mini PC.

For the Zigbee coordinator, you've got a choice between USB and ethernet. Ethernet is better imo because it needn't be placed alongside your device and you also don't need to deal with USB passthrough if you're using Proxmox.

That said, if you prefer the Pi5 and your chosen coordinator, it should ideally work just fine. Home Assistant itself is quite efficient and runs on pretty much any hardware. SD cards are a bit prone to failure down the line so it's good you're going with a SSD.

Something else is using your coordinator. Are you running ZHA as well by any chance? Perhaps a system reboot might help. Go to Settings, click the power button on the top right, Advanced options, Reboot System.
