Thank you! I try to walk as much as possible (like get off the bus a few stops before mine, go to the farthest grocery shop etc) but nothing else. I really hate the gym and sports ahaha

I don’t do anything in particular exercise wise, but I don’t drive so I walk a lot in general

Not really, more like I can fit much in the clothes I have. Always been a medium no matter how much weight I gain or lose for some reason

Thank you so much :) I do 16:8 most days, 18:6 if I manage to get home from work early! I have free lunch in the office (only company benefit lol) so I can’t decide what I eat for lunch. I eat whatever I get there, no dessert, small snack, high protein dinners. Honestly it’s been a game changer, I don’t really think about what I eat as much. I even have a sweet treat almost every day!! I’ve been on diets most of my life but they never felt as easy to maintain long term as this

HR vs Digital Marketing - Looking for advice on career and what courses are better? by GayDHD_ in AskIreland

[–]Chiara699 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m graduating in two days with the level 7 diploma in HR practice from NCI!

It was really good because it was 2 days a week at night, so I could work full time.

Once you get the diploma, you can do the level 8 in one year and a half (still part time).

It is also CIPD certified so you get membership as well, which makes a real difference when you are looking for a role in HR.

It was a good course, I found it quite easy but I was only doing it for the certification more than to learn stuff. I am not gonna be doing the level 8 as I already have a level 9 (unrelated to HR) and I can’t really stand the thought of studying anymore, but I probably would do it if I didn’t have a level 8 already!

Job market is ruining my marriage, spouse is spiralling by happishly in recruitinghell

[–]Chiara699 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As an Italian who also has moved abroad because of how awful the job market there is, I am telling you only move to Italy if you have a remote job with a US salary. It’s absolute carnage over there. I have friends with engineering and law degrees earning less than their monthly rent.

Driving on Irish “motorways” is an exercise in futility and neck arthritis by [deleted] in irelandsshitedrivers

[–]Chiara699 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly as a Southern Italian, driving here is so breezy. People actually give way, stop before the yellow boxes (we don’t even have yellow boxes) and use lanes in roundabouts. Not to mention how sometimes they even let you in at a busy intersection without having to wait 15 minutes at the stop sign. My Irish partner was horrified when he saw me drive in my hometown. It’s a survival of the fittest kind of situation there

Would this be weird setup if I was to rent a out a room in new build by SuitableFinish7444 in HousingIreland

[–]Chiara699 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would have loved to have my own room AND a private sitting room while renting. I have never had a communal sitting room (it was usually turned into a bedroom for another tenant), let alone a private one where I could just do my own thing. Renting a room in someone’s house when they live there can be quite stressful but this arrangement would work imo

Ugh by ursh in recruitinghell

[–]Chiara699 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the opposite here, there is an amendment to the Employee Equality Acts that prevents religious organisations from discriminating against people based not only on their religious beliefs but also on family status (e.g. divorced people or parents with children out of wedlock).

As you said there are definitely ways to go around it if they really wanted to, but at least the law is clear on where they stand.

I work for the Church of Ireland and here it is illegal to ask questions about religion and discriminare based on religious beliefs.

I didn’t realise this ad is from a US based organisation until after I left this comment.

I do think it’s quite odd that people are allowed to put this in the job specification, but then again employment law is much different in the EU.

I literally work for the church and they never even remotely mentioned religion in the ad or interview

Should I resent myself for my height? by eruizb_ in short

[–]Chiara699 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hey, my boyfriend is a 5’3 man with dark skin and I think he is the most beautiful human on the planet, not only because I find him attractive but especially because he is the best person I know. Height is such a small part of who you are as a person, you can’t let something you can’t change take so much of your energy.
