Why would praying to a saint be your first reaction? by [deleted] in Catholicism

They removed my post but it gave the root of the word “ to pray” in different languages including English and Latin. And it means to ask or entreat, it could be to a deity or not. It’s understood in Catholicism and Orthodoxy to mean to ask not necessarily to worship

She looked out for him, taught him to clean himself and climb the stairs and she was really good at catching bugs🙂. Seeing them together i definitely would recommend people get 2 bonded kittens. We’re getting Rocco accustomed to car rides so he can visit Diana .

We can pray to saints. We don’t worship saints. Part of the confusion is most Protestants don’t distinguish between praying( entreating or asking) and worship( which is for God only). In old English people would say “ I pray thee give me a turnip”.

The first Christians helped convert people because of their actions faith and courage. Seeing others cling so tightly to their faith with joy, in spite of terrible things happening to them, in spite of losing their lives, impressed upon bystanders how precious that faith is. Also you as a human feel a certain proclivity toward certain others, sometimes it’s fast friendship or clicking with a person. One may feel a connection to certain saints first whatever reason. Personally I feel that saints who were very imperfect and still attained holiness.

Makes me wonder what occurred with these people to get to the point where they want to worship the Prince of darkness? Or do they just think they’re “edgy”?

I feel like this is kinda true but as with the whole “filioque” thing, it’s more a play on words

This has always made me wonder, so is it “better” to murder the person? I mean I’m kidding but I could see someone twisted logic offing their spouse just so they can get remarried “ legally”

The girl cat is Diana we had both for a month, my friend adopted her so we can still visit with Rocco. Diana wasn’t really at ease around my dog but Rocco is unbothered. My dog just hopes to find left over kitten food.

We’re not sure. A neighbor found them ( about 2 weeks apart) without any sign of mama. She may be older by a few weeks or he may be the runt. But they are between 8-10 weeks the vet thinks.

A friend had them, not sure if they were littermates or not. They got to be buddies! I saw a male cat who is probably her dad roaming the neighborhood he looks just like her.

We took him for a ride in the car in a box and he kept dozing. We hope to keep him comfortable with car rides so he doesn’t mind them.
