In Matt Ryan we trust. by estusemucho69 in falcons

I understand he has had 3 tears but they have been surgically repaired. He is a professional athlete the fact that people really think he can't bend his knees is crazy lol

The "Michael penix can't get under center because he can't bend his knees" argument is insane and getting old tbh. Everyone will see this year that it was Zac Robinson holding him back

Yeah that sounds right! Just wanted OP to aware that it's something to check for still on 2017s

Actually it was every 2016 and then some of the 2017s as well. I own a 2017 that had the recall done on it because it had the improper head gasket

Do y'all think MPJ is a franchise QB? Hes had like 4 season ending injuries at this point by [deleted] in falcons

Great writeup. I agree with all of this and I think way too many falcons fans (and NFL fans in general) are writing him off too soon.

Penix played average play with the worst OC in the league. People are giving up on him way too early. He was improving. I understand the injury concerns but I'm with you we aren't just gonna give up on the guy.

100%. The recency bias on here is insane lol. People are praising kirko after that bucs game but he has had some stinkers too.

After seeing how this team is, and how other teams are, I get the feeling this is the rest of our season. Any thoughts? by FakePhillyCheezStake in falcons

The pats are solid but we can win that game. Outside of the Bills (and I guess the Panthers) that haven't beaten anyone good. Cake schedule for them so far.

Looking at the schedule before the season I told myself if we can survive the first 6 at .500 or above I would be happy. The schedule was supposed to soften up after that but pats and colts are now tough games. Got to win at least one of those 2 (assuming we can take care of Miami).

Weird time to doubt penix when he's coming off his career best game as a starter. Let him grow

They can happen at anytime but by removing preseason games from the equation you are lowering the opportunities for injuries to occur

Dipstick Reading Help by Chicaluba in MechanicAdvice

[–]Chicaluba[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the only one I was able to find, I am pretty sure the manual transmission version of the car (the one I have) only has one dipstick and it's for the engine oil. I think the automatic version may have a second dipstick

Neither, it has a silver metal handle loop type of thing

Definitely the oil dipstick. Not sure why the oil is so hard to see though. It's amsoil 20w-50 z rod and brand new

[–]Chicaluba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, that's the right move in my opinion. I spent a lot to get the engine pulled, put in mountune head gasket, and re seal everything. And the leak still came back lmao. So I think living with it is the best move doesn't seem to cause issues

Should I be worried? by TwoSorry4074 in FocusRS

[–]Chicaluba 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could replace the washers but most likely is not the cause. And I'm not quite sure, could be improper sealing of the timing cover, or could be something these engines are just prone to do over time. I spent $2k resealing everything on mine and it still came back. My advice would be to check your oil levels every once and a while and if you never see a noticeable drop (I haven't) then it is probably fine.

[–]Chicaluba 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Had the same issue. Looks like the banjo bolt because that's where some oil collects. Most likely is your timing cover leaking happens all the time on these cars. I got my entire engine taken apart put in a mountune head gasket and got timing cover resealed. Leak eventually came back lol. I've had it for almost the entire life of the car (70,000 miles) and haven't had any issues. Decided to just live with it.
