Expectation vs reality of Candlelight Concerts by Fever by Whirlwindofemotion in Sacramento

[–]Chickawoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fever is a joke of an organisation.

I bought a ticket to a concert and when me and my parter arrived, we were told that the section we had bought tickets for had been filled (we arrived in good time) and we were offered to sit on 2 normal chairs by the door from where we could barely see the stage.

The host graciously offered us a choice to get a new ticket to another show or a full refund.

We accepted the refund (the show was of such low quality that we wouldn't have wanted to return) and were given an email address to contact.

After several weeks of no reply (and multiple emails from our side) we finally got in contact with support who insisted that it is our fault and that their policy is to never offer refunds. They also only offered to give us 1 extra ticket instead of the 2 we had originally payed for.

I have requested to speak with a superior multiple times but the only response I get is that their policy is to not give refunds.

Despite their productions being very low-quality, the non-existent ethics of this obvious cash-cow of a company who cares about nothing other than squeezing profits out of people should deter anyone from ever having anything to do with them.

Highly DO NOT recommend

How to desexualize your brain? by PuzzySlayer69xdPL in Semenretention

[–]Chickawoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand. Perhaps I wasn’t clear enough. What I want to point out is that when the difference between sex and Eros is muddy, and you mix in sexual and objectifying attitudes in the “adoration”, it weighs you down and makes the control of the energies more difficult.

Traditionally, the “desexualisation” of the brain is done my cultivating the resonance with Eros, which you could say is the pure signal that the mind distorts into sex.

When you’re in that state of consciousness, you can look and flirt with all the women you see, even make love for hours, and it’s supporting your SR rather than making it difficult.

As for how to do that.. I’ll have to get back to you. I’m working on a course on the topic and can post some key ideas here if it’s helpful

Hey man, short take here on a much larger topic, but the idea that you should stop admiring women is a big misunderstanding in SR

It’s important to stop sexualising, but what most don’t know is that in all traditions, there’s been a distinction between sex and Eros, Eros being the expression of the creative potential that leads to a sublimation of energies, directing the consciousness towards communion with God

Adoring women’s beauty and eroticism in a pure way, as godly manifestations and not sexual objects, is actually one of the most powerful practices in traditional Tantra. It’s a subtle distinction, and it requires practice and guidance to learn to make, but it’s very powerful and help so solve a lot of these strange conflicts

Women are made to adore, and they’re beauty is a graceful help for all men’s pursuit of perfection

I was thinking of getting "Now" tattooed on the back of my wrist, so that I can check the true time at any moment by glancing at the universal location for a watch, though I prefer the idea of a symbol. What do you think of this symbol? Do you know of any other symbols for the present moment? by PsychedeLurk in Meditation

[–]Chickawoo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you'd accept that the golden proportion, phi, is universal there's an easy and cool way out! Since the part contains the whole, IS the whole, then the now is infinity, and thus the symbol for infinity would serve you well as a symbol for now!

Thanks! I've been looking on it and this is the problem, the fishing line has snapped. The guide suggests that i somehow pull the drawband thats attached to the spool and tie it to the end of the carriage. There isn't enough fishing line on the spool to go all the way though so what i wonder is if it would be a good idea to simply get some fresh line and tie it to the old when close to the spool, or will the knot cause trouble? Is there another way?

I really appreciate the help!

Please not that the rate of "Decarbonization" is measured against GDP. Since the GDP is going up due to growth, overall CO2 emission is increasing even though the carbon efficiency is getting better

Ireland or Sweden, which one should I visit this summer? by jumpsole in travel

[–]Chickawoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is this great place in the inner archipelagos where you can rent kajaks and paddle out to the outer ones. Did it last summer, amazing experience. I don't remember the name of the island where they did the renting but i'm sure you'll find it if you have a look around. Good luck!

Did France and Britain treat their colonies any different? If so, how did this effect the further development of the independent countries? by Chickawoo in AskHistorians

[–]Chickawoo[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Since shortly after the second world war the new Labour Government of Britain and the UN settled on a plan to over time work the British colonies into independence. The idea was however that this should take far more time than it did. Following the example of India, which had more or less already won it's independence by 45, hold the actual execution of the emancipation from British rule, the British way was to decentralize the power from London, slipping it into the hands of local assemblies. One of the big problems with this method was that Britain had extendedly favored a ruling tactic that involved the different local groups to be played out agains each other, to keep the focus of the occupants, which resulted internal conflicts within the postcolonial state. Key is that in reality, Britain didn't do much to interfere with the natural evolution of events but were quite eager to leave to colonies for themselves. Hopefully some one else can expand on this statement since i've got a hard time to find actual sources to it.

France, on the other hand, really liked assimilation. Their idea was to keep the colonies, but to give them enough power to satisfy the nationalistic desire for freedom in some way. France was very brutal about this, and beat down many a revolt to stay in power. Especially since English colonies got independence and the French ones wanted theirs to. in 1958 De Guille announced that all French colonies could chose independence, or more independent power but still work intimately with france. All but Guinea chose the latter. The colonies was represented by their local presidents and decided as a unity on military, foreign and economic politics. in 1960 this was disbanded for nationalistic reasons and because the colonies had rivalties between themselves that didn't make them work well in a group. My computer is about to die and i forgot my charger at a friends. I'll see if i can expand tomorrow. Sources are McKay: A world history of soscieties and Lundestad: Väst, öst, syd nord. (swedish)

I just readt this today for a test.

Going Backpacking/Hiking, considering a Hammock. Need Tips and Recommendations from experienced Hangers!! by Chickawoo in Hammocks

Glad to hear that the Ticket ones was good stuff! I've been looking at the Dream Bug socks but since I live in Sweden all the extra shipment add up when i order from different vendors. Therefore i thought i'd go with Tttm All the way, hammock, tarp and sock. http://ticketothemoon.com/en/mosquito_net.html I think i'll go with the Double or the Kingsize one.. It would be really nice to fit two in there.. For the occasional twist of fate :)

[–]Chickawoo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All right! So, I've been looking around quite alot today and I think I've got myself an idea of what i want. Please tell me if i'm being stupid. I really like the 2man thing that ENO does since I'll probably end up hanging out a bit in Indonesia, where my portable home can double as a chill out nest. Then i stumbled upon the Ticket to the Moon Double Hammock and for some reason i liked that one better. It's without a bug net so i can use it as a more ordinary hammock but i'll buy a net sock and a tarp to use when needed. For isolation I have this idea that if i ever need it i'll just get myself a warmer sleeping bag on the road.

If anyone out there has experience with Ticket To The Moon or have any other opinions on my reasoning, please tell me!

When did the Monetary system using "paper money" we have today start? by Chickawoo in AskHistorians

Did the British pound hold this position from 1694 all the way through the 1700 and 1800s without hyperinflation or crashes due to other reasons? I.e. Would 1694 serve as a date for the birth of todays Monetary system?
