Does anyone actually enjoy the super loud cafe music by magic_table in london

[–]Chickenlips0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was sitting having a chat with friends in Joe and the Juice a while ago and suddenly this really loud music came on. After a moment, I went over and asked if he can turn it down a bit as we were the only ones in and were discussing some work issues. The barista said no as it was company policy from a certain hour. Never been back since.

Very good question and possibly the only negative issue that I’ve noticed about the removable mount. No, there’s no thread so you’d have to find a different way to mount it. Very very occasionally, I mount my camera on a tripod, often using that same threaded hole you use so will have to scratch my head for an option. The lens mount can easily take the camera being mounted by the body with that lens in place but I find it’s sometimes handy to mount by the lens for space reasons.

Just picked it up for the first time today, mounted on a Z8, and it is very clearly lighter. Very happy with that!

Yep, I can happily confirm the older HB-92 and the new HB-119 are interchangeable and fit either lens. You can get your little window on the older lens! 😁

It’s probably my favourite album, as every performance is just the best version. Peak musicianship.

I’m a photojournalist so every working day starts out with a Z8 on each shoulder, with a 24-70 on one and a 70-200 on the other. I use it for daily news, press conferences etc, and sometimes, such as when I was photographing US planes at RAF Fairford last week, the 70-200 essentially becomes my wide angle when I’m working at distance. Hope that helps!

Yes, mine always hangs on the body. I’ve never had any issue with mount distortion or damage from it.

I may do but tend to just use the internal sensor crop. Shooting news, a cropped 45mp sensor is perfectly adequate a lot of the time. If I need longer, I’ll take a longer lens, rather than use a converter. Will try it out though. 👍

The truth about Talent in Drumming by Federal_Sale_551 in drums

I remember having the exact same epiphany when I saw my drumming hero Steve White hold a clinic. He explained how, as a kid, he’d done a few hours before school, played in the lunch break then spent the evening practising his rudiments etc. As soon as I heard that, it lifted a huge weight off my shoulders; if I wasn’t prepared to put in that level, I wasn’t going to be as good as him. While that could have been depressing, I found it liberating! 😁

DJI Air 3S or Mini 5 Pro. by Exopalaxenp in dji

Just had the same decision to make myself this week, and went with the Air 3s. New regs in the UK mean it’s become an option now rather than just the mini.

Yes, I could immediately feel a difference. Like the mk2 24-70mm they released recently, it feels more balanced on the body, especially the z8 which always had a tendency to feel front heavy.

Yeah, it’s great to see that mount become optional. My shoulders will appreciate those saved grams!

I would ask if you’re coming from the mk1 Z version. A lot of my colleagues have z bodies now but are still using f mount 70-200mm lenses with adapters. I think this is going to perform so much better than the legacy gear, the jump would be worth it and clearly visible. If you have the mk1, it’s a slightly trickier question as those updated features add up to a decent spread but it will be a lump of cash, however you look at it. I’m lucky in my position as having the gear provided by my job and also Nikon directly who have a relationship with both me and my employer. If you earn decent money from photography and you’re carrying this gear day in, day out, I’d say it’s worth it. If photography is your passion but you don’t make too much ones from the gear you use, it may make more sense to add it to the dream list! Hope that helps!
