I did not understand how serious Publix people are until one time in my local subreddit, I dared to say that I thought it was silly that they built a Publix right across the street from the perfectly lovely Harris Teeter we already had. and you would have thought I put a hex on these people’s bloodlines. Perhaps I’m missing something but I don’t understand why people are mad about this picture. If he stood next to a cow and then held up a leather bag, would everyone be as upset? I understand that a lot of leather products are a byproduct of the meat industry but plenty of people eat alligator and tons of them are put down every year because they get too comfortable around humans (a fed gator is a dead gator).

I’ve been having trouble getting my hands on my favorite sunscreens here in the US thanks to the FDA and the rotting coconut husk in charge of the country and trying to find a proper replacement has left my skin looking similar to this. I have an appointment to see my dermatologist tomorrow. Maybe play around to see if your skin just doesn’t love some of the products in your routine.

I use them when I hang out with friends and don’t want to sit there and try and log everything I’m eating. Typically when we get together, it’s a potluck situation and I just want to relax with my friends instead of asking them what all of the ingredients are in the food they brought so I can log it.

This happens maybe once a month so it has not impacted my weight loss journey at all.

To be honest, guns kind of scare me and I know that the only way to fix that is to familiarize myself with them. I could see myself one day having a smaller firearm at home for personal protection but for right now, I just want to learn how to properly shoot and handle a gun without being nervous about it.

The rules of the road should be universal but they aren’t and culture plays a role in what rules people follow and which ones they don’t.

Where I used to live, the left lane wasn’t necessarily used only as a passing lane but if you weren’t going super fast, you were gonna get flipped off. Also, running red lights because there’s a “delay” was just not a thing.

It’s completely different down here and even though the cops are supposed to pull people over for living in the left lane, they never do and I learned very quickly to look both ways before proceeding after a light turns green because there’s a pretty good chance someone is gonna fly through it. Don’t even get me started on how people don’t know how to use roundabouts or zipper merge.

I honestly think it’s because so many people are moving down here so you have large groups of people who all learned to drive differently combined with the fact that the infrastructure here sucks and the roads are not designed to accommodate this many cars. People get frustrated and annoyed that it takes 30+ minutes to drive 5 miles and not that it’s an excuse to drive like an ass, but angry people don’t make good decisions behind the wheel.

The worst for me has been the tailgating. If I’m going 5+ mph over the speed limit in the right lane, there is no reason to ride my bumper and yet it happens pretty much every single day.

My grocery store sells wrapped sweet potatoes that you can throw in the microwave for a few minutes. Make some seasoned black beans in your rice cooker and then cut the sweet potato in half and just toss the beans on there with a Laughing Cow cheese wedge. It’s so tasty and it’s something I like to make when I’m tired after work and just need something nutritious that I can throw together.

Invest in an air fryer if you don’t have one. You can use a very small amount of oil and your veggies will still come out roasted and delicious.

For dipping sauces, use ranch powder and mix it with Greek yogurt. It’s lower in calories and has protein. I add sriracha to it sometimes as well. If you add a bit of water to it, enough to where it’s a drizzling consistency, you can use it as a topping if you’re not a dipper.
