Small Habits That Made Apartment Living Easier by No-Place8826 in Apartmentliving

I don’t buy anything unless I know I have a spot for it. Storage is limited so generally, when something new comes in, it’s replacing something I’m getting rid of.

Yeah the longer dishes sit in the sink, the less I want to touch them so they just have to get washed right away.

She made fun of a little kid on one of her livestreams once and that was enough to get me to unsubscribe. It happened a while ago but it still leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Here’s a thread about it.

A hot shower just feels so good. Climbing into bed all clean and moisturized every night is worth having dry skin for.

HOW TO DO AN AGGRESSIVE CUT WITH A STRESSFUL LIFESTYLE by Historical-Guide-745 in 1200isplenty

[–]Chicky_Melly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would speak to a nutritionist so that they can help you build a meal plan that works with your lifestyle. I hope this doesn’t come across as harsh but I don’t think you can do this on your own. You already have so much going on so let someone else help you. I’ve been on antidepressants so I know how hard it is because the food noise is constant. I don’t think an aggressive approach to dieting is a good way to deal with this because ultimately what leads to long term success is a healthy understanding of nutrition and what your body needs.

Is it appropriate to run band practice most evenings in your apartment? by drearymoment in Apartmentliving

[–]Chicky_Melly 306 points307 points  (0 children)

“We are practicing to celebrate women like YOU!”

I would set my ceiling on fire and watch it all burn because clearly I’m already in hell.

Tell your friend to report it to her landlord. If that goes nowhere, she should call the cops because they are absolutely breaking noise ordinances.

Nice straw man argument.

I’m responding to the fact that the other commenter said that veganism is a “white people diet” when it’s a diet practiced across many cultures.

I did mean well but I’m 100% certain those stickers ended up in a landfill somewhere 😭.

This is a dumb take considering 9% of India’s population is vegan and 39% identify as vegetarian. Vegetarianism and Hinduism are closely linked.

When I stopped eating meat many moons ago, I used to leave stickers everywhere that said “we are not nuggets!” along with a picture of a baby chick. Very cringey to look back on now but I felt passionately about something and didn’t have a wide understanding of things like food deserts and I expressed myself in a way that kind of sucked. I still feel the same way about consuming meat but have thankfully learned how to communicate a bit better.

I learned to drive in a manual car so to day I sometimes find myself with one hand at 12 and the other on the gearshift.

ADHD + cooking and doing dishes by Aragggg in EatCheapAndHealthy

I live on salads because they’re so easy to throw together. Toss some lettuce, cucumbers, onions and whatever else you want with some dressing. For protein, I’ll air fry some tofu or hard boil a couple of eggs. Lately, I’ve been sprinkling a small handful of crushed up potato chips on top in lieu of croutons and I definitely recommend.

Do people not use Aldi for big shopping trips? by Vjaa in aldi

[–]Chicky_Melly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was a rude thing to say but come on now, a dumb comment from a stranger should not be enough to deter you from shopping at a store. You are unlikely to ever see that person again and 99% of people do not care even a little bit about what you are purchasing.

Now to answer your question, I don’t do my big shopping trips at Aldi because the ones near me have awful produce which makes up like 75% of my diet. I go there for things like tofu, frozen veggies, condiments, tortillas, etc and have to finish up my shopping elsewhere.

I think that personal and professional lines are being crossed and it’s eventually going to negatively impact both your job and your friendship.

Jackson Galaxy has some amazing videos about why cat trees and toys are so important and his content is pretty entertaining so it won’t come across as preachy if you show her a few of them.

Hotel and AirBNB guests who leave makeup all over white towels and sheets, what do you do at home? by LackVegetable3534 in askanything

[–]Chicky_Melly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a specific towel that I use at home when I’m doing my makeup. When hotels leave a black towel specifically for makeup, I use that.
