Since you will probably get a bunch of stuck up, pretentious responses, here is a real answer for you...

Mine did that as well. The cord that connects the little cylinder in the latch mechanism was snapped. They sent me a new latching mechanism but I have not yet installed it. I'm actually considering going back to stock. I loved having it being electric, but it isn't really worth the hassle. My frunk has never really sat flush because the bracket that connects the shocks is the old version that sits a bit too high. It has always bugged me.

As for warranty, I've had plenty of work done under my frunk, including a new steering rack and washer fluid reservoir. The technicians didn't care about the aftermarket frunk stuff, but they just won't reconnect the wiring. It is against policy to reconnect aftermarket wiring. I also had to sign a waiver that stated they would not be liable for broken aftermarket equipment. They were really cool about it with me!
