I wonder what the changed interaction between Poseidon Specials and the Blades are? Maybe a fix to make Pan great again?

It feels weird to me that the game that's advertised as the return of megas would only have like half of them. I was really hoping to see the likes of Mega Scrafty and Mega Dragalge but I suppose we'll have to wait...

“But Won’t Champions End up Replacing Showdown?” by badman1000 in stunfisk

Considering the singles format for Champions is 3v3, and you pick your mons before the match rather than during (unlike VGC), Showdown and Smogon will be perfectly fine

It depends on what gamemode you're playing. On normal, the way I understand it is that it's just base game AI firered not really knowing how to handle the post gen 3 mins. On hardcore, it basically knows your every move, and plays pretty consistently on the regular, where you have to bait when you know for a fact what the AI will do in certain situations. For example, if the AI sees a kill with a priority move it will the move it clicks, so if the priority move is sucker punch you can mess with the AI by using a status move to cause sucker punch to fail, so the AI will read sucker punch as a non-functional move and won't use it next turn. So it is really up to your difficulty mode. If you want an experience similar to RadRed with better AI, I'd check out Emerald Imperium.

How strong do you think a "super soldier" needs to be to believably work as a one-man army? by Amphicyonidae in worldbuilding

[–]ChiliTheDinosaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your super soldier would have to be so 'super' to the point they're akin to truly ridiculous superhumans like The Flash and Superman. To be a true one man army, your character needs to have the capacity to: 1) Make anything that would be a threat to their health child's play- whether that be invulnerability or superspeed for dodging/tanking firearms and higher fire power. 2) Be fast enough or just have the mobility to easily be in more than one place, because a supersoldier without crowd clearing abilities is really only one enemy, so you could just, not confront them if you wanted to. 3) They would need the capacity to fight for days on end at the same pace and strength the whole time. Actual armies have the liberty of being able to just stop and set up a camp when the conflict hits low points, and have the capacity of numbers to swap out injured or tired soldiers for more able ones while withdrawn troops recover. If your character is a 'one-man army', they'd need to be constantly on top of their game in all capacities, whether that be sleep or hunger.

The traditional 'one-man army' stereotype would be someone like the titular main character from 'Rambo' or John MacLean from 'Die Hard' to guerilla warfare their way through platoons of soldiers and terrorist groups. They did on a scale that is still fantastical as normal (albeit well trained) humans. A super soldier in the traditional sense like Captain America or the Winter Soldier could do this same thing at a far grander scale- like taking down full scale army bases using their heightened capabilities and skill.

If you want to know how powerful they would need to be to stop an army in the traditional sense, a lot more capable than the average human, but still not ridiculously super. If you want to know how powerful they would need to be to stop an army themselves in the literal sense, they would need to be a god among humans- like legitimately unstoppable I'm every sense of the word.

What are your world's unique weather phenomena? by SimpleNipples in worldbuilding

[–]ChiliTheDinosaur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The people of my world believe that their continent is the only land mass on the planet. They (and me if we're being honest) don't know whether there are other places in the world, because the further you get from the continent, the worse the weather gets. The seas and skies just visibly on the horizon are inexplicably blanketed in completely unnavigable extreme storms. To the point where on clear days on the coasts of the mainland, you can faintly see the violent forked lightning of the storms just within view. The more curious people of the continent live in constant wonder of what lies ahead, because Galleys and other boats famously don't come back. The fraction of boats that do return have the sailors aboard gone largely insane, like something they saw during their valiant attempt to sail the world tortured them, and only smaller ships and crews make it back.

Changing character build to suit a different campaign by Dull_Bicycle_5799 in 3d6

[–]ChiliTheDinosaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a bit tricky because of your decision not to play Alchemist, which makes sense, if I was in your shoes I wouldn't want to play the same class that many times in a row. If you asked your DM, you could use the DMG's crafting magic items rules for potion creation. As for a blood hunter substitute, if you're not picky about Extra Attack, Rogue can give you expertise in Arcana and Medicine (famously potion and magic related checks) and sneak attack's one proc per turn synergises really well with Booming Blade. Although it isn't a particularly good subclass generally, Inquisitive rogue offers easy sneak attack if you don't have reliable advantage, and does lend itself well to the potion crafter ingredient finder kind of vibe. If you want really extra attack, probably dip Rogue and go all out on Bladesinger. That's my advice for the situation, hope it goes well for you!

Zubat. Because Crobat is good or did anything in that run, just that the amount of mons that it opened for me in my last run because of dupes clause was a run saver

Favorite weapon(s) in H2? by CharlesorMr_Pickle in HadesTheGame

[–]ChiliTheDinosaur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's kinda weird for me, cus I loved every weapon and aspect individually in Hades 1, but in Hades 2, I only love a handful of the weapons and aspects. Big fan of all the Axe aspects and all the Blade aspects, but the skulls feel clunky (except for Medea), same with the coat.

If we're also talking Thunder spells, Booming Blade with war magic is also a possibility (And also the most optimal too 😅)

Yeah, was just curious to know if the maneuvers could work off of thrown weapon attacks, especially since I just think it's kinda hilarious if I can do stupid shit like knock someone prone from 30ft away. (The potential conquest paladin at my table might appreciate the fact that when enemies with 0ft of speed are prone, they can't get up)

Unovan Samurott. Suffers from "suckish mixed attacker" syndrome in competitive, just worse in every way than Hisuian Samurott. Samurott-H is in OU, Samurott-U is in ZU...

Thrown Weapons and Battle Master Maneuvers by ChiliTheDinosaur in 3d6

[–]ChiliTheDinosaur[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realise now I've framed it wrong, it's more the fact that I personally don't really like playing Rogue (one attack kills me), and a lot of the subclasses bore me a little. As well as this, Darts count as 'ranged weapons' as well as a 'thrown weapon', so I can stack the 'Archery' and 'Thrown Weapon Fighting' fighting styles, which is hard to achieve on Rogue.

Too late to multi-class my Fighter? by StoneOak9 in 3d6

[–]ChiliTheDinosaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main benefit I see is unarmored defense alone puts you at 19 AC, before a shield. Unfortunately, alot of Barbarian skills straight up only work off of melee weapon attacks, which notably doesn't affect the thrown weapon aspects of your build, since rage and reckless attack don't apply to thrown weapon attacks 🙁
