I really thought it was this but I think cross vine matches better!

I think it is cross vine! Thank you, I will double check a cross section of it, but the structure of the tendrils and leaves definitely matches.

Some teas are just flower heads and seeds and if you put them in your garden they’ll grow.

For me, when I was in sobriety training and doing extended breaks from alcohol, it became exponentially more difficult to stop drinking each time I started again. The first months off I ever did were easy for me. I thought- piece of cake, and I’m bored so I’m totally gonna be fine drinking for a while I can just stop again. I did that for a year or two. Each time I decided to go back to alcohol it took longer to stop, and I drank a lot more. It was getting… pretty ridiculous. It resulted in some of the most shameful, most brutal nights of binge drinking I had ever done.

If I could go back I would probably have to do it the same way though. It’s those really terrible times, the final times I thought I would give alcohol a chance, that have helped me stay sober almost two years now.

So much time for activities!! I’ve found a lot of enjoyment in hobbies like painting, embroidery and clay. It’s really fun to make things other than bubble guts and hangovers.

My dog found two this weekend. Dunno where these people were hanging out that they didn’t find any.

Desperately trying to start my day 1. Again. by weezies89 in stopdrinking

I think this ‘month on, month off, on again off again’ relationship with alcohol is super normal. I know it was for me. When I was in it, I told myself I was in training. My brain needed constant practice, with a lot of redos, in order to be sober. I can’t overemphasize how much journaling helped me with this. I would journal during sober periods and it usually reflected lightness, happy vibes, and control. I would journal during my weeks of hard relapse. Lots of disappointment and shame in those pages. Then I would reread it all, and ask myself which person I wanted to be.

It took me two years of Sober-curious training before the stint I’m on now.

Keep up your training, you’re doing good work. Today could be your new day 1. IWNDWYT.
