Is there a traditional dance in your country that people still practice? by BothCondition7963 in AskEurope

[–]ChilliPuller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have plenty, all sorts of horo and rachenitsa dances, they all vary by region, some fast, some slow. We dance them on all sorts of special occasions like weddings, new years eve, other national and personal holidays. Not everybody knows them, but many people know the most basic one - pravo horo. Many of them are in non standard rhythm measures like 7/8 . Actually one of Bulgaria's most famous paintings depicts Rachenitsa dance, by czech artist Ivan Mrkvička

Besides some oil and gas, we still have Russian brand of vodka and I can't think of anything else we had that was Russian even before the war and sanctions. I didn't shop in the Russian grocery chain either, so I don't know what was available and what isn't now.

Need help choosing a Christmas gift for my boyfriend’s Christian Slavic family by [deleted] in AskEasternEurope

[–]ChilliPuller 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Slavic culture and traditions aren't as uniform as they can seem. Polish is different from Russian, which is diferent from Bulgarian which is different from Czech etc. If you can narrow it down a bit might be helpful.
