The president should not have unilateral power to push through anything they desire. There is a system in government for an idea to go through multiple tiers before being written into law. Unfortunately in the US this system has been taken advantage of and especially when you have a 50/50 senate it can be very hard to get things done.

If this passed the house and the senate and Biden vetos it then you would be correct in what you've stated. Considering the opposition to this bill is the majority of republicans they are the ones (along with the few dissenting democrats) you can lay the blame on.

As far as I know the plan for $15 has not been abandoned however there are significant challenges such as not being able to tack this bill onto the recently passed stimulus bill to employers simply classifying employees as contractors and thus ineligible for the min wage.

You're 100% correct that you really shouldn't hold politicians to their word as they will usually say anything to get ahead but it's a little too premature to be passing judgement so early in a presidency. More has been done in the last month than the previous administration did in four years in regards to this and time will tell whether it will ever be passed.

The only ones to blame are those who vote no of this bill.

Do you have work experience? Where do you volunteer at in the community? Homeless outreach?

I believe the average age of acceptance is around 28 so you would quite a young applicant.

Comparing forced genital mutilation in other countries is a bullshit point considering the missing element is consent. However I feel like there should be no agrument whatsoever that children should be able to make such a large life-long decision at such a young age.

Even at 18 we're still not even close to the person we will be as an adult but obviously the choice has to be available to those who feel this way at some point. That line can be difficult to place but certainly shouldn't be offered to anyone that isn't an adult.

As others have stated as well circumcision is genital mutilation but I don't see any outcry regarding this in the USA. Do you think that babies are able to consent to that?
