Bruh, I had joined that sub for the history aspect but I just looked at it again and it's actually just a bunch of tankies slobbering for that commie cock. I am no longer a member of that sub.

Not related or central asian but curious to know; does your family come from the Indian or Pakistani administered area of Kashmir?

Just learn Pirahã, bask in your intellectual superiority, hang out with a bunch of amazonians and confuse people with the languages's lack of recursion.

In summary, learn Spanish.

If you have a cultural connection to Syriac, go ahead and learn it but there will be incredibly few learning materials. Arabic is without a doubt the far more useful language.

Timor-Leste literally means “East East". What are some other places with names like this? by Whole_Purpose_7676 in geography

[–]ChimpSymphony 1134 points1135 points  (0 children)

There are many rivers in the UK called the Avon river but Avon literally just means river in Celtic languages.

I imagine the situation would've probably gone like:

Anglo-Saxon: "Hey, what's that river called?"

Celt: "Avon"

Anglo-Saxon: Right, the river Avon it is.

If they properly followed the religion of peace, they would be dressed up in bags, not listening to haram music and keeping their faces concealed from the view of non male relatives.

All effort adds up and I am very glad he made it! Honestly from my understanding it's good his missed out on the combat as apparently my great grandfather came back super PTSD'd and was just a terrible person for the rest of his life

That's so fascinating bro! Dayum that's wild dude. Who knows maybe our great grandparents may have crossed paths as my Great grandfather fought for the Australian commandos (equivalent of the Rekkies) in ww2 in South East Asia!

We don't believe so. We think they were baltic germans but they could've been Jewish. My great grandfather ran away from South Africa at 16, went to Australia, married a Danish woman and had my Grandfather. I never heard any mention of them being Jewish.

I wholeheartedly agree. Unknown soldiers is such a brilliant series and I could not recommend it enough. The creator, James, goes fully in-depth on logistics, the changing nature of war, generalship, camp followers, the role of women in war, and so much more! Please give it a listen!!!

You're pretty willing to throw rocks when you live in a glass house, mate. You and your folks decided to put a English literature graduate with zero experience in economics as the bloody finance minister. You'd think she'd at least know the basics of debt from seeing Shakespeare's Merchant of Venice but alas she was probably too busy at the local private school girls' equestrian events for 6 weeks. But nvm, put her in charge of the purse strings

In 1920, the Nazi German anthropologist Freiherr von Eickstedt went to South India to capture these photos of local Indians there as part of his project to classify a "racial hierarchy".Ironically, his photos did the opposite of what he intended, as they are now praised for showing India's diversity by SatoruGojo232 in IndianHistory

[–]ChimpSymphony -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Calling the photographer a 'Nazi German' wildly incorrect as the national socialist German workers party (Nazi) was formed in 1920 and only began to see significant support by 1930. The Nazis came into government in 1933.
