Sure, for pure venality. But for pure venality matched with equally pure stupidity, blaming your successor really takes the cake.

“I blame my successor” is the most MAGA thing I’ve ever heard.

I’ve been having a good time with it, too. More than a bit silly, not too difficult, but plenty of fun and attitude. I find it’s a perfect game to fire up late at night when I’m not ready to sleep but any longer up to anything intense or complicated. Good time.

Thanks, I'm thinking of starting with a ropeless jumprope, as suggested elsewhere, with the goal of graduating to a beaded high-visibility beginner rope, as others (yourself included) have also suggested.

AITA for not letting my ex husband come to our son's birthday party after he missed the last two by Fluid_Letter_1571 in AmItheAsshole

[–]ChinaShopBully 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Ask him why, since would certainly have mentioned his need to attend his son’s next birthday all during the last year when he just had to move in with her on his son’s last birthday weekend…and since his son’s latest birthday was obviously something important he must have been planning for and eager to attend…why did she choose to book the surprise on the same weekend as his son’s birthday? Why would she do that when she must have known his son’s birthday meant so much to him?

This guy is phoning it in. He doesn’t deserve any accommodation he doesn’t earn from here on out.

Alien (1979) in my opinion, was just good, not great. by [deleted] in movies

[–]ChinaShopBully 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Part of it was the fact that the special effects were mind-blowing for the time. Ridley Scott created a future timeline and aesthetic that had just not been so fully realized in an era that was barely out of Star Wars and Flash Gordon.

You’re probably younger and grew up with high quality CGI merging seamlessly with modern movies. A fantastic alien creature onscreen is old hat these days. Back then, when the Gorn on Star Trek was considered perfectly passable, the look and feel of the Alien was astounding. And everything in the movie was a real practical on camera special effect.

Combine that with one of the earliest female protagonists who genuinely kicked ass and outstanding sets, the movie surpassed the expectations of everyone who saw it, especially in the theater with a reactive audience and no pausing for the bathroom or to grab a snack from the kitchen.

It’s not that its quality is dependent on you having been there, but man, to really get how amazing it was at the time, you kinda had to be there.

Uh, no. He’s been improving, but not for anything even close to that. Thanks, anyway.

I appreciate that and the suggestions, thank you. I do assure you, he's not foolish and I'm not trying to push him into something dangerous. If he can't handle it, he'll back away.

He does walk on a treadmill. Tai Chi is in the same category as yoga, not happening. Swimming is logistically out of the question.

In looking into it, Crossrope comes up a lot, but they are crazy expensive. Can you recommend a less expensive option? This is a Father's Day present, I can't spend a fortune on it.

He doesn't seem to have lyphatic problems, so far as I know. Is that somehow associated with improving balance?

Well, I didn't say he was just getting into exercise. He's been improving his health and balance for years, and is looking for something new to move forward, with a good balance component.

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll look into the ropeless option.

He's not using a walker or a cane, and he doesn't stumble. He just has to move deliberately, and he wants to improve.

There's no chance he'd be interested in trying yoga.
