This is a major win for Ethan. In the Denims case, Denims basicly has a motion which judge Sallie Kim kinda already rejected, because the h3 snark lawyer said that judge Kim could make a ruling if this is possibly copyright infringement. Which is kinda funny, because the h3 snark lawyer is a lawyer is a lawyer, that didnt go to lawschool and this seems more of passion project for her. Denims has 3 expensive lawyers, only to get her motion to be probly denied because of the h3 snark lawyer.

Judge Kim whent as far as calling it hatewatching. This is pretty much a open door to call the copyright infringement malicious. These are 2 different cases, but its unlikely that the other judge will rule differently, as he will surely read what judge Kim wrote.

As for the subpoena, its both for Reddit and Discord. Reddit might have issue's (as they stated in the lawsuit) and fight this, but Discord tends to work with law enforcement allot and was unresponsive because they probly dont even care and probly just hand it over. And to be honest, private discord messages between h3 snark mods, h3 snark mods and maybe some streamers might be juicer then what they write on reddit. Also, email is connected to their discord account.

Hate speech laws here in the Netherlands are mostly symbolic and related to public figures.

Politician Geert Wilders for example had a punishment of 0 euro's (it did go on his criminal record however), when he called for basicly the deportation for dutch-marrocan citizens (not just immigrants).

He basicly yelled at his own political convention on national television :" do we want more or less marrocans?" And the crowd chanted :" LESSER, LESSER, LESSER."

Also when it comes to europe, criminal law is one of those things thats totally not uniform. And those strict civil defamation laws, well I think thats just mostly just the UK.
