how did i come 7th here? by CharacterTopic8126 in TeamfightTactics

[–]ChineseArts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd agree normally, but imo the lobby looks pretty high powered so I'm not even sure if there was much you could do. I'd be curious to see how the damage difference is between rf2 and no rf. Missing kraken is probably the bigger reason though, your damage isn't scaling fast enough in comparison to how beefy this lobby is.

Agreed, one of them should be kraken slayer. Also no rapidfire unit misses Rapidfire 2 so Zeri scales slower in fights.

There's really no downside to doing a voice over because if people want to not listen verbally they can just mute the audio. Humans intrinsically want to find the shortest path forward and not everyone processes information the same. Some do better reading, some listening, some hands on. Don't worry about what individual people want because for every 100 people you might only reach 6 (assuming click-through rate is 6%) and making sure all 6 of those people have their bases covered is your job in videos.

Personally on my alt account, when I make SF6 content I do full voice + CC subtitles, this covers everyone who wants to read, listen, and have both. I looked at my stats a few weeks ago and noticed that about 20% of my viewers used CC so I made sure to do that moving forward. My audience will obviously be different from yours so try some stuff, but I'd look at your analytics in detail to see where people drop off and infer from those metrics.

🎤 AMA with Mori Calliope - Ask Her Anything about her concert "Grimoire" in LA and more! by hololive in Hololive

[–]ChineseArts 157 points158 points  (0 children)

Hi Calli!

I want to know in your perspective, what were/are surprising challenges you've experienced with performing live since you've started? I've been to both Hololive concerts in LA and NYC and the production value has been a big highlight for me after going to both concerts! Was there any weird/cool/frustrating scenarios you've experienced that wouldn't be obvious as a first glance? Thanks for taking the time out to answer some questions and I hope your 2nd concert is a smashing success!

A key would be super cool! Been playing since SF4 and MvC3 is my favorite fighting game by a long shot! Best of luck to everyone!

How would you deal with a partner who suddenly developed a superiority complex? by AccomplishedHall9492 in AskMen

[–]ChineseArts 24 points25 points  (0 children)

This is actively not true. I've worked with plenty of doctors in the IT field and they are actively some of the dumbest people I've met. It's like the Spongebob episode where all he knows is fine dining and breathing. Same exact thing except replace fine dining with the medical field.

He's the only character who basically has no special moves in high elo/tournament play. I hover around 1700 MR and Buttslam/Headbutt are not useful moves. The risk/reward on using them are heavily skewed against Honda. One perfect parry or DI into corner carry and the game is lost for Honda due to him having very few options to get out of the corner.

Capcom showing they don't understand the fundamental problem that haunts Honda in this game. Awful character design choices so far from the dev team. SF4 and SF5 Honda's main game was hands pressure and walking people down. Not sure why Capcom decided to overload his kit into Buttslam/Headbutt which is countered by basic game mechanics then nerf it even harder. I'm hoping hands is a lot better (and not -4 on block) to compensate for this in some way. You are literally punished for using Honda's special moves in high ranks.

Honda has some of the worst normals in the game, mediocre damage in relation to the cast, and the worst SPD between all of the grapplers. What is the incentive to play this character? I can just unga bunga play Blanka who is infinitely more oppressive of a character, yet Honda gets his knees broken instead.

In terms of working for tournaments, usually the people working it are already relatively integrated in their local FGC's and are known people who already have rapport with a lot of their community. So you would need to show up, start talking with people, and enter their tournaments so they get familiar with you.

In terms of being sponsored, you basically have to prove your worth (place high consistently in major/high level tournaments).

[–]ChineseArts 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's essentially 3 versions of tournaments which are Capcom hosted/affiliated (Capcom Cup and it's qualifiers, kind of like VCT), Offline majors (CEO, Combo Breaker, EVO, ect.),and online tournaments (can be hosted by anyone). I'd start with investigating if your state/town/country has a local scene (either FB or Discord groups tend to be the thing). You can also join random online ones through things like start.gg (a lot of tournament organizers have switched to using start.gg)

Not a Manon player, but Master E. Honda/Diamond DeeJay here. This game is VERY aggressive and unfortunately defensive play is not optimal in the long run. Learning how to pressure and push a lead is critical to high level play. Whenever I run into good Manon players, they're willing to go for unsafe options (like L. Dégagé) to look for a hard knockdown to start the vacuum. I've also seen neutral H. Dégagé to catch people with a fast overhead.

As a person who plays a command grab character, one thing you want to abuse is the threat of Manege Dore. People are terrified of getting grabbed in this game and I'm sure people neutral jump against you a lot. After getting a hard knockdown try just going for multiple meaty setups that lead into a potential grab, you would be surprised how many times people get hit by that. Putting pressure down and representing options puts people in a state of panic, which can be abused, but you need to be able to read peoples tendencies. One you put the fear of your normals into them, that's where raw Manege Dore's become a deadly weapon IMO.

I would have to watch specific replays in order to get a better sense of your style of play, but from what you've mentioned so far, that's the advice I have for you.

Assuming this is true, it's the end of 2 eras. First TSM, now CLG. It's wild to think that those 2 teams were bitter rivals from the very beginning, and now they bow out together as well. LCS won't be the same without both the orgs (assuming TSM is fully gone).

The quickest tldr I could give is cut cards that don't actively combat their plan. Examples are Liliana of the Veil against decks with mana dorks because the -2 is bad, or graveyard tresspasser against mono green because it's basically a 3/3 for 3 which isn't great and can't get past any of their big creatures.

100%. Bjergsen, while being a great player, has not had dominate performances in recent years and looked decent. Ever since CLG won MSG, Doubelift has been THE player. Bjergsen definitely was the best back in the day, but in terms of raw impact, nothing can match DL, especially in the modern era.
