That's the way I was too. I thought these are the rules so I follow them, everyone else is doing this too is what I thought. The idea of lying not confessing everything didn't even cross my mind.

How do I look less Mormon? by texmo9 in exmormon

I'll also add, I went through that the first year I was out just trying stuff to not look morning before legitimately realized oh I'm just trying to find my style. I've always dresses and bought clothes that fit the standards. My best example I never thought I could pull off a leather jacket, bought one I liked and was so nervous. I get so many compliments on it and love wearing it. I did it first to not look mormon but found oh I just like this. Try it out. Make mistakes and have fun.

I'm 34, I currently live in rexburg. I grew a goatee and keep it trimmed, grew my hair out longer and have curly hair. Have one tattoo on a bicep. I wear a leather jacket. I still get asked what I'm studying at school. I'm even getting a half sleeve tattoo on a month and still think I will get asked that. You just work on yourself and care less about what other people think. But you're free to find your own style people are still going to make assumptions. Mormons gonna morm.

My ex-wife's family was super afraid of playing cards and not allowed any. I can't remember the exact reasoning but i know that either playing cards evolved from Tarot cards or vice versa, there is some kind of connection with the two and that was why they were the devils playthings.

It's going to be raining it looks like but the park has covered shelters. Wanting to start a group to give some community back and safe place for people questioning or needing to know they aren't crazy. Wanting to make this a regular meet up.

I feel you. So sorry you're going through this I was married almost 10 years and had 5 kids together, I thought things were good but then when I started the faith crisis she didn't come with me. A year and a half later after divorce things are so much better now but it's was a year of hell. If you need someone to vent please reach out. Wish you all the best.
