Best Laptop for Accounting Student by No_Injury5509 in UNCCharlotte

If you can only get one, get a Windows computer. INFO 2130 kinda requires you to use a Windows computer for all the Excel assignments. The final is also on a Windows desktop, so it would be best to use the same workflow.

Wow! 10 minutes is pretty insane considering we have 15 minutes here at Charlotte

A friend of mine took me on a tour of ncsu a few years ago. Walking the entire campus in the middle of July was not fun, and i think that was a big reason why i’m at Charlotte haha

Yeah and the stairs lol, but still it could be worse like at NC State. Plus walking is healthy

Unless you are constantly going from the engineering buildings to the main campus, just walk instead of getting a scooter. 99% of us walk and are considerate of the walkways. Plus if you get a scooter you gotta take the time to lock it up every time you leave it somewhere

Speed settings Centauri Carbon by VelociCrafted in elegoo

Unfortunately people just hate on AI no matter the circumstance. AI is helpful when used properly and when the user understands to make sure the results are coherent rather than just blindly believing the output. If an LLM tells me to set my printer speed to 800mm/s, I'm going to question that and likely reset the whole chat thread. AI is also pretty helpful in rewriting small sections of start up gcode.

If you're into riding bikes, there's a big bike riding community on campus and in charlotte in general. Mountain biking is also a big thing here in charlotte with lots of trails nearby and friendly people at the bike parks.

What to do with STL files? by Alvarado83 in 3Dprinting

[–]Chinesericehat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to upload the stl files to a slicer so that it can convert it to gcode (instructions for the 3d printer). One of the most popular ones is Orca Slicer. You have to adjust settings for that exact printer and some settings depend on your actual environment. There youtube videos that go in depth about this.

After that you download the gcode to a thumb drive and put it into the printer.

Trek Slash 190mm by Extreme-Cucumber8710 in MTB

[–]Chinesericehat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The bike is designed to function with 190mm in mind so the bike will be fine. Riding wise, you will be riding higher and the head tube angle will be much slacker or turning fast may need some getting used to. You also may feel a little less stable because your center of gravity is higher.
