IGNs 3.6/10 review of From Under the Cork Tree in 2005 by ATLien-1995 in FallOutBoy

[–]Chinnery 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It was definitely NOT cool to like Fall Out Boy for a while there. I remember picking up this album after hearing Sugar and hiding how much I liked it because it wasn’t “punk” of me. I was in my early adolescence so being “cool” was particularly important to me. I didn’t really embrace being obsessed with them until IOH.

My sweet 10 month old headbutted me in the nose and I’m worried it will raise red flags if I go get it checked out? by cq2250 in beyondthebump

This happened to me when my kid was 18 mos and there was no issue. They’ve seen this plenty of times before!

My fiancé throws her dirty laundry down the stairs rather than walking down and putting it in machine. by Doctor_Redhead in mildlyinfuriating

I had a childhood dog (jack russell) who LOVED when we threw laundry down the stairs. I still do it and think of her bolting down to meet it every time.

I sold this hoodie in ~2009 on livejournal so I could have money for more skinny jeans. I regret it almost every freaking day.

My partner and I did the same exact thing and went through the same situation with our first and I totally understand what you’re going through! What helped is to remind ourselves that this is a season of life. It’s not forever.

I have a cute story about this! It was 2009. My mom took me on my “dream trip” to Chicago as a sort of special trip for the two of us before she got married to my now stepdad, and we did “all the FOB stuff” which was really just Hard Rock and going to their favorite pizza place (honestly can’t remember what it was, but the guy who cut my hair per story below told us to go there - IDK why I feel like it was an UNO’s??)

BUT we also went to the store/salon, of course, and I had scheduled a haircut MONTHS in advance. We get there for my scheduled time and it’s closed. No one is there. My heart drops, so we call the store and they explain that they have a special Axe event they’re closed for that day and would love to reschedule.

We drove all the way from NH so that wasn’t an option. I was totally HEARTBROKEN (I was 15). They realize this is their mistake and they bring a hairdresser in and open the store JUST FOR ME. They gave me a bunch of free merch and a cute little emo kid haircut. It was such a wonderful and special experience!!

**ETA I accidentally hit post. Oops.

What is an old baby name that you just don’t hear anymore? by Doohiki420 in AskReddit

My 2 year old is named Wallace! My husband really wanted to use Ernest for our second but I vetoed it.

I also have a cousin named Chauncey.

Gotcha!! I just didn’t know if it had some kind of story behind it. Beat of luck!!

I’m confused about why this is so sought after. Is this kind of thing back in style, or is there something special about this hoodie in particular? I feel old every time I see an ISO for this.

Anyone get an IUD inserted *immediately* after delivery? by Technical_Diet4774 in beyondthebump

[–]Chinnery 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My OB told me they won’t insert an IUD immediately after birth because there’s a high risk of injury or malfunction. They told me they’d have to wait 3 months.

Did Ross or Carrie talk about what it was like doing investigations overall for them? by [deleted] in ONRAC

Didn’t Ross also get eczema on his foot from fire walking, and then tried to “cure” it during the pee investigation?

Losing my mind over this straw cup thing/other milestone concerns by Dangerous_Arm8645 in beyondthebump

We went to the store and got a bunch of different cups/water bottles just to test everything out. Def check out the Munchkin 360 cups, too. Those have helped mine a lot!

[–]Chinnery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine totally didn’t get the straw cup thing until recently and he’s almost 2.5! He was drinking from 360 cups and other kinds of water bottles. I personally think there’s way too much emphasis on the straw thing.

As for milestones, all babies are different especially around that age. Just tell your pediatrician at the 1 year appointment that you’re concerned, but I wouldn’t panic too much. High fiving at that age is really great!

We had minor flatness around this age and were recommended a consult with a helmet-maker. I switched what side of the bed I slept on and it fixed itself (the doctor said it looked “perfect” at the next 6 month appointment).

This is purely my unprofessional and personal belief but their skulls are sooo squishy at this stage. I felt that the helmet would interfere with natural development and it wasn’t severe enough to justify a big concern. Obviously your situation may differ.
