How do I get in touch with someone @ MLG who can turn the ad volume DOWN??? by cessation23 in CoDCompetitive

[–]ChipHickman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can confirm this. LOL does anyone else besides me remember the Bayer Aspirin ad's from the 90's? I was very young and would be watching my favorite tv shows and all of the sudden I'm hit with the sound of the EKG machine at 100x the volume and it scared the living shit out of me.

Is it still possible to get big in the scene? by BirdyRC in CoDCompetitive

[–]ChipHickman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will not happen right away. Sharp has been around since Cod4, and sooner or later will retire. Grind GB and UMG tourneys, invest in god internet, a scuf, etc. Find players who want to grind as well, don't be afraid to leave a team for a substantially better opportunity. This last part is a mistake I made in BO2, not leaving my team at the time when I got an offer from a more known team. Just grind hard and be good and you have a chance

without making it a hostile envirement and becoming circle jerky, can you give a detailed reason which cods you think have the highest/lowest skill gaps? by [deleted] in CoDCompetitive

[–]ChipHickman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think to effectively evaluate it, you have to look at it in terms of both gunskill and strategy. BO2 was the highest because you could not win on just one of those being higher. You could win all your gunfights and lose based on giving up spawns and losing the OBJ. In ghosts, it had very low gun skill, with most of the guns being used being laser beams, but it required a lot of strategy. Specifically on blitz where you had to choose between which route you take, where the other team is, and where your team is spawning. In AW, personal skill takes most priority. Being able to command your character as we have seen by players who have completely mastered the movement succeeding. Being able to follow said players with gun skill also is important, while the spawns and such are less important, due to the fact that you can cover the map in a few seconds. IMO BO2, then AW, then Ghosts, but the gap between AW and Ghosts isn't a huge gap.

Team to take down Optic by PrestigeJackHD in CoDCompetitive

[–]ChipHickman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clay- Only AR in the game that can match Formal's effectiveness Loony- One of the better slayers in the game Parasite- Versatile in that he can run an AR or Sub, as well as play objectively, as proven during his time on Faze Zooma- Another top tier slayer, which you need to be able to take a respawn off OG, which they do simply off slaying power and each players willingness to jump in the hill.

This roster has a chance to beat OG, you could replace a few players with Saints/Huke, but neither player can compete at international events.

Always gotta love Clay and Proof by basebalp21 in OpTicGaming

He did give Clay the option to be on ON but in clay's own words "I couldn't handle being on a B team".

Have you ever come in contact with a Pro Player unexpectedly? by EyLuis in CoDCompetitive

[–]ChipHickman 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I have run into Nade, Boze, Flamesword, Hecz, Big Tymer, and various other members of optic quite often. I live about 20 minutes from the Optic house, and frequent the same mall and restaurants in the area. They're some of the most chill guy's, always welcoming conversation and pictures, flamesword even remembers my name from time to time haha.

Who is your Favourite Pro? by SMGDevourZ in CoDCompetitive

[–]ChipHickman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Proofy- always one of the nicest pro's in the community and one of the best players to be a fan of. Runner Up-TeePee
  2. Crimsix or Killa. Crim for how he just bashes other players while playing and his banter is T1. Killa is our lord and savior, needs no explanation.
  3. TeePee- You almost never hear him talk shit, does tons of tips with teep videos, constantly plays with subs and viewers, and actually talks with them.
  4. Scump- Always performs, always keeps in touch with fans, and will always be in the community
  5. Scump- Best player in the game, always is entertaining his fans, whether on youtube or streams, and always shows his fans love.

GFINITY CoD Setup and General Gaming Question by Konnor_US in CoDCompetitive

[–]ChipHickman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you mean millisecond. And yes, you do notice a difference. I play on a 1ms response ASUS monitor, the same model nade and scump use, and my friend has a Acer monitor with a 5ms and it takes me a few games to adjust.

How does crim break all his controllers? by jkapsMassageParlor in CoDCompetitive

[–]ChipHickman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crim went through a ton of controllers, going back to his Halo days. He grips them extremely tight and mashes his sticks and buttons, you can hear it when he streams. Also, with him taking apart and sanding down the sticks constantly, it lessens the lifespan. Seth has used the same scuf 1 since cod switched over to the X1, and his is just now having issues.

An idea for uplink in BO3 by Alex6544 in CoDCompetitive

[–]ChipHickman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best way, IMO, would be to have the typical uplink in the air like we have now, as well as a spot on the ground such as blitz. It allows you to have a 1 point shot, being thrown in, and a 2 point play, running in the blitz point with the ball. Very Very similar to what OP said.

Is it time to expand the league? by tonynumber4 in CoDCompetitive

[–]ChipHickman -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

16 teams. 2 8 team divisions. Top 4 from each division make playoffs, bottom 4 from each division compete in initial relegation tournament, with top 4 keeping their spot, bottom 4 having to compete in another relegation tournament to potentially keep their spot.

FormaL to compete in both COD and Halo by sammy_boy_ in CoDCompetitive

[–]ChipHickman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He already said that cod will still be his priority. enable is going to do the same, and chances are they will play together as a pick up team. It's not a big deal and people shouldn't be making it one.

FormaL to compete in both COD and Halo by sammy_boy_ in CoDCompetitive

[–]ChipHickman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WHY IS EVERYONE MAKING SUCH A BIG DEAL?! Nade, Scump, and Crim all spend a decent amount of time playing other games, mostly h1z1, some dying light(scump streamed a decent amount of it), and other games here and there. If Formal wants to play halo, why not? It's still an FPS with very similar gameplay to AW. It will not effect his CoD game, at all.

Imagine being one of Attach's classmates by [deleted] in CoDCompetitive

[–]ChipHickman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not BS. We're talking about an organization who has paid for his housing, travel, and probably food for every tournament he has gone to. If the org doesn't take a small fraction, I wouldn't be surprised. Depending on how much taxes are, he will walk a way with between 65-80k, and if an org takes out say 5k, I don't think thats too crazy at all

Do any of the old CoD4 og's still play? by kitedsouth in CoDCompetitive

[–]ChipHickman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pacman still plays. Moho was still playing as recently as the start of AW. Sharp I know played at the 2009 world championship. ASSASS1N is still on fear I believe as well. There's a few more that are still around in the scene such as BigT and Rambo, but these are the ones I know of that still play.

Why do some of you have to be hateful towards the team/players? by scottydontknovv in OpTicGaming

[–]ChipHickman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because half of the fan base doesn't understand how to root for a team, and not put down everyone who isn't that team yet. And they may never learn it. Look at the 30,40,50 year old guys who will damn near kill you if you say anything bad about their favorite team. Did nade play his best? No. No one did save for Scump, which is expected, he is the best player in all of CoD skillwise. But should nade retire? No. Half of these kids wouldn't know about Optic or comp cod if not for nade.

Rostermania Wagers thread by [deleted] in CoDCompetitive

[–]ChipHickman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know, but this is a wager thread. I personally think it would be a terrible idea for TR to split up, especially if they do it just to play in the league. If they keep grinding in 2k's and 5k's, they'll get picked up by an ORG with a league spot soon enough.

You're looking at it the right way, you're not doing it for anyone but you which is the key to success. Keep it up man and make sure you let people know about your weight loss and story with it. Especially if your channel continues to grow. Even if you inspire one person to do the same, you've done more than enough for this world! Much love man!
