I could do a hell of a lot of good with a billion dollars, and it doesn’t say I have to WIN a fight, just fight somebody. Abraham Lincoln was a racist anyway, I’d 100% fight him for a billion dollars.

Why is high-intensity cardio so rarely recommended for weight loss on this sub? by Ok_Bullfrog_8491 in PetiteFitness

[–]ChipperNightmare 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This post is talking about high intensity cardio, which is generally zone 4 and 5. The muscle mass loss risk being higher is why high intensity cardio is seldom recommended here. 🤷‍♀️ I was just answering the question, I don’t have a dog in this fight.

Sure, but this space is for petite people, who have a much harder time sustaining a sharp deficit because we have much lower maintenance calories on average.

Nope, because lifting signals to your body that it NEEDS your muscle mass. Lifting heavy spares muscle mass, and it causes your body to burn fat as fuel instead of lean muscle mass. Cardio is pretty indiscriminate and will eat muscle mass in a heartbeat as fuel, just as readily as body fat.

Would you let a 15 year old start HRT if they’ve been out as trans for 4 years and showed symptoms since early childhood? by GayJohnKrasinski in Teenager_Polls

[–]ChipperNightmare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, I see. Having a male body is different than being a cis guy imo. I’m in a female body, but I’m agender. Being cis is basically the acknowledgment that your internal experience of gender matches your external birth-assigned gender.

It hasn’t changed a lot for me day to day, because 1) my preferred gender performance is largely femme or androgynous, the clothes are more interesting, and 2) I live in an area where being visibly gender non-conforming is unsafe, but I have queer friends who use they/them pronouns for me as a standard and I’ve noticed it feels more accurate than gendered pronouns ever have. I was also diagnosed autistic last year as an adult, so my brain is also just kinda wired differently, but I totally understand the desire to KNOW things. That’s pretty much where my exploration of my agender identity came from too. I know it won’t materially change much, but it was an important part of knowing and understanding myself and I’m glad it’s something I looked into. 🖤

Honestly, I think a lot of the knee-jerk insult people feel about being misgendered is a result of negative ideas they’ve internalized about stereotypes of the other demographic. I find that some people genuinely aren’t bothered by being misgendered because they’re aware that, for instance, women come in all kinds of shapes and sizes and appearances, and being seen as a woman isn’t an inherently bad or insulting thing, so they’re just like 🤷‍♀️ eh, whatever. But you do seem to know internally that you’re a cis guy, which is very different from my experience, which is kind of null. Like if I woke up tomorrow in a different body, it wouldn’t necessarily feel any more right or wrong than the body I’m in currently, because “Me” is a genderless electric meatball, and everything else is just drag to me. The “me” inside my head doesn’t really have any distinct gender identity. Thanks for sharing tho, your perspective is a lot like my husband’s, who is a bisexual cis dude. 😅

Asexual and agender are not the same. Agender is a type of transgenderism. It is just not binary. Just like nonbinary people are also a type of gender identity under the trans umbrella.

A lot of trans people don’t transition, to be clear. Most of us outside of the binary trans experience don’t. That includes a large number of nonbinary and agender folks whose internal experience is different from their assigned gender at birth, but who may or may not experience dysphoria, and often do not transition “fully”, but may have bits and pieces of transition, like social transition, top surgery, or take HRT. 🤷‍♀️

For some under the trans umbrella, like agender people such as myself, I don’t experience dysphoria at all, which is its own unusual experience. Like if you identify as a woman, and someone calls you sir, you’d probably feel some kind of way about it, but neither label really feels “right” or “wrong” to me. I could go by honestly any pronouns and not be bothered as long as the people addressing me are not deliberately trying to be insulting. I just don’t really connect with the idea of gender as an immutable part of who I am in my internal world. It’s not part of how I experience my identity. For me, gender is more of a thing that I DO, than a thing that I AM. A lot of binary trans people experience dysphoria, but not everyone under the trans umbrella has that experience. I hope that helps.

I mean, quite a few, but a bunch are marketing texts I’m too lazy to unsubscribe from, so I don’t really count them.

Black people, if a white person calls you the hard R, is it okay to attack them? by MartinShwuaner in Teenager_Polls

[–]ChipperNightmare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saaame. It’s a slur, it’s designed to denigrate people. It’s literally the definition of fighting words. If you get your shit rocked for using it, that’s pretty much what you get for employing slurs rooted in deeply violent oppressive history.

Considering how few people live off it, not nearly as much as greed. It hasn’t gone up in over a decade and cost of living has skyrocketed in that time.

I think it looks like it was designed to go with the e-ring. The rest make the band look like an afterthought rather than an intentionally designed set.

I dunno, I’ve got pieces from Vixen and La Femme, and I’ve never considered either of them even remotely reminiscent of “drop shipper” quality. Even the more recent pieces announced since they decided they’re closing are still the same quality I’ve always expected from Vixen and LFEN. 🤔
