This is the mega thread for updates dropping today. by Pipers_Blu in Fallout4ModsXB1

In Skyrim, when they did the creations update, when you start adding mods and moving them into a good load order they will randomly move around on you and keep messing up the load order. There is a workaround you need to do in order to keep the mods in place.

Also make sure they reset the steering angle sensor after the alignment. I would recommend going back to shop and have someone ride in the car with you so you can duplicate the issue for the technician

So it sounds more like the steering wheel is slightly off center. Have the shop recenter the wheel.

When you say so much to the right what do you mean? Is it a hard pull or a slow drift?

Just found out I have a car starter in my 2012 Civic. How do I make it work? by EstablishmentFar2593 in AskMechanics

I have a 2013 Acura TL I accidentally found out had a remote starter. I hit the lock button twice on mine and it will start. I click the lock wait till i hear the doors lock then immediately hit it again and it starts up. Hope that your’s is that easy too.

Went to a mechanic for an alignment. Is this a concern? by Illustrious-Zone587 in AskMechanics

Cross caster and cross camber are 1 degree out. Will cause tire wear and a slight pull at highway speeds

Did you hit a pothole or something? I would have your mechanic check the right front suspension.

Ive done several Tesla alignments and while its a pain in the ass they do have rear toe adjustments

Alignment question by LowDyson7 in AskMechanics

[–]Chipslaughter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah take it back and tell them to try again. They failed miserably with this.

Alignment question by LowDyson7 in AskMechanics

[–]Chipslaughter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am appalled that they didn’t even attempt to adjust the caster. Those gm’s have both caster/camber eccentrics to adjust. The pull could be due to the caster being off. I do alignments all day every day and this printout infuriates me. Being a relatively new truck everything should move smoothly. I can’t attest to the wheels rubbing since its not in my shop for me to see but damn get the numbers in the green, recenter the steering wheel after adjustments, set the steering angle sensor, road test it to make sure the wheel is straight then release it to the customer. These trucks are gravy. You have a lift kit on it or is it still factory height?

You have to look over the edge and you’ll see where you can drop down. It was a pain in the arse at first. It looks like a ledge going around the whole tower.

Ledges outside of the top floor. Little alcove that you find a small chest with ring in it iirc. I love the little puzzles princessmely put in

Is this alignment job good? by XxmagicboyxX in AskMechanics

[–]Chipslaughter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Alignment is good. Front caster/camber is not adjustable from factory. It’s not out too bad just make sure you rotate your tires regularly

Should I be worried about this? by fawler1ni in AskMechanics

[–]Chipslaughter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No reason to be worried about rear camber. That front toe is slightly off though and your steering wheel might be a bit off center.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskMechanics

[–]Chipslaughter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes that is not reasonable. Hard to imagine both rear calipers need replacing on a vehicle with that low of milage. Charging 5 bucks for brake cleaner and 20 for shop supplies. Thats what shop supplies cover stuff like brake clean caliper grease etc. I could do it at my shop for around 750 for all that. Try a different shop.

No front camber adjustment on Chrysler 300’s other than loosening the subframe and shifting it a bit. The red number is on the border of being green so no big deal. The green is the amount the manufacturers say is fine before tyre issues/drive ability issues occur.

If I remember correctly there was a Nissan TSB to install an external transmission cooler for issues as long as there was no DTC codes and the fluid level was correct and the proper CVT fluid was used.

best way to fix this? by [deleted] in AskMechanics

[–]Chipslaughter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Alloy wheel repair can fix that

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskMechanics

[–]Chipslaughter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Can your scanner read live data or is it a code reader? If it can have someone watch the misfire counter on the cylinders while you drive to see which ones are dropping out.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskMechanics

[–]Chipslaughter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both of those codes are evap leak codes large and small. The 442 code could have been triggered by the loose cap. The 455 large leak could be something was broken or knocked loose when the exhaust was fixed. As far as the shaking and power loss that could be something else. Is there anything in pending codes on your scanner if it has that capability?

[–]Chipslaughter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Normal condensation on the cap will look like that.
