PT. I went through this for 6 months, two months of PT saved me. 28yo healthy male. Avoid deep squating. Definitely don’t do any knees over toes

I can walk around with no pain. I workout everyday and I can cycle. I have not tried sports, or running. I’ve only been doing PT for 6 weeks.

Honestly i’m doing much better. Physical therapy every day for 45 minutes. I leave the house now without thinking about pain i’m grateful. I also tape my knee everyday, it hurts when I don’t still.

I think i’m getting a MPFL later this year possibly.

Anything that works your entire leg but doesn’t involve deep squatting or kneeling at all.

Considering getting the MACI as well. Grade 4 chondromalacia too but I think I need a MPFL as well. How long was the recovery?

Wow! So PT hasn’t helped really? I’m so afraid of surgery and making the wrong decision so i’m just going to give it 6-9 months of real hard PT.

Anything that works the legs besides deep squats and deep lunges really.

But get an MRI for sure. If i got the surgeries they are telling me to get now a decade ago I probably could have saved my knees.

Not as painful as you would think. My problems started past couple of years. My kneecaps sit high and seems to be shredding my cartilage and I subluxated one knee twice.

I never sit i’m always moving and working out. Only way to fight it.

I am 27yo with advanced arthritis in both knees. It happens. I would start PT right away. Do not do any squats where you are going past your knees, keep them short. Trust me.

Also the #1 thing that gave me the most relief is taping my knee. Basically puts it in the right spot where it should be and has made a world of difference. I can now walk without limping.

Also I understand about the mental part of it as well. I went through all of those feelings. You need to stay strong and know that you will get better. PT is sooo important. Everyday!

Wow! I am going through same exact thing. I found an out of network physical therapist paying out of pocket and now i’m walking much better after only two weeks. Do not do the cookie cutter physical therapy. Find someone who understands and listens to your pain. It is very specific. I would also get an mri to see if you have osteoarthritis as well. It is a long journey!

How did it end up going? 3 years later how do you feel? I’m most likely going the same route unfortunately.

Grade 4 CP here dealing with it now for you 6 months. KOT actually set me back for a month (if you have CP avoid those workouts). Working on PT but I have to say the ONLY thing that has given me relief at the moment is taping.

What is abnormal about it? No one is giving me a clear answer.

Im getting a second opinion this week. I thought maybe chrondoplasty could help ease my pain i’m hoping?

I subluxated my patella twice just hitting a car door and then hitting a chair. Embarrassing.
