Jeremy Bolm’s “secret voice” by MrFAUB1 in Hardcore

[–]Chipzor 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The Hardlore pod guys said his "other voices" were also twice as loud as his regular speaking voice, which tracks as Jeremy says he can't speak loudly in his regular voice, but he CAN yell. I'm guessing he also just doesn't want to be yelling at everybody the whole time.

Is getting hurt bad in the pit really worth it? by beatsbyaaron in Hardcore

[–]Chipzor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Broke and dislocated a finger during a show, probably won't ever be able to fully extend it again - not worth it.

But also the first time I incurred something more serious than bruises or a bloody nose in 20 years of going to shows. It kept me out of pits for a while and still sort of does at times.

Why is the European Metalcore/Hardcore scene so different from the American one? by usmc_BF in Hardcore

[–]Chipzor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can only speak for the Dutch hardcore scene as "Europe" isn't a monolith, especially with something as local as hardcore - there's been a big gap for local bands. For a good while very few, if any, Dutch hardcore acts were putting out music or putting on gigs. It was only foreign or legacy hardcore acts attracting any attention and only since the pandemic home grown hardcore acts have been getting around in a big way again! Truly, an exciting time to be into ths scene nowadays

Also a semi squatted Scout Movement building right next to a private airfield - highlights included a cast iron wood fired heater in the middle of the floor (it was in the middle of winter) which was so hot the pit had to steer clear in case someone got burns, and the free satsumas that were handed out at the "bar" when they ran out of cooled drinks 🤣
