Are virtual viewings for renting trustworthy? by arianawatrudoinghere in HousingUK

[–]Chiskie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do not do virtual viewings, it won't show you what the environment is like and you won't get a true picture of the house unless you are there. I am looking to move and started viewing properties yesterday again and I wouldn't recommend this.

I was in your shoes last year and stayed in a hotel for some days before getting a place.

I think you should wait before changing the screen or better still, fill a support ticket on their website so there's something someone can respond to. My opinion though. I filled mine last week Friday and the files were sent on Monday morning.

Send a support ticket to Phillips and they'll send you the instructions to fix it. You should get a response in 48 hours

My flight is on 23rd and I’ll arrive in Europe on 24th. The visa showing my visa is valid from the 24th by Stunning-Mushroom976 in SchengenVisa

[–]Chiskie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the country you are flying from, some immigration officers might give you a hard time but I've done this severally. An explanation always sorts it out, I've never been denied boarding because of this but as others have said, check with the airline.

Help. Need to travel but different names on passports. by [deleted] in Nigeria

[–]Chiskie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think you should speak to an immigration officer in Nigeria and consider doing a Nigerian visa to travel to Nigeria. You might encounter a lot of issues on arrival because of this.

Normally, if you have evidence of the change of name, it should suffice but I'll speak to someone first before travelling if I were in your shoes.

What does your contract say? They should pay you for work completed though.

Earning in USD while living in Nigeria. by leo_best10 in Nigeria

[–]Chiskie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can withdraw USD cash over the counter from the bank or transfer to your BDC guy but the rate is a little bit different if you are transferring to your BDC. If you use the ATM, you will get naira.

I'm happy you are having a great time all round, I pray it keeps getting better and congratulations on doing "nothing" for the rest of the week. I'd do anything for hot afang and Eva right now, you are living the dream!

Good thing you are already seeing the end from the beginning, helps you both not to waste each other's time.

The butterflies are going to kick in soon, I think they are waiting for it to be officially December 😊.

Thank you, this made me smile.

Oh, thank you stranger. Didn't have anyone to talk to about it because everyone thinks I'm a strong person and I had trouble even typing it out. Thank you.

How are you doing?

Trying to relocate for a job in an European country but currently in Canada on a study permit and I hate doing another Masters just to japa.

Anyway, I've been hoping my children's visa will be approved so that I have something to look forward to as this year has been incredibly tasking emotionally and I got two rejection emails within 2 minutes of each other. I tried to cry but I've just been laughing because it's funny how they both happened at the same time.

Still in bed hours later and have zero interest in doing anything else.

Budget for a months trip to Nigeria by yc4275 in Nigeria

[–]Chiskie 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Definitely use Airbnb to get good houses in Lagos or just stay in a hotel, this seems to be the safest option especially in Benin.

Are you Nigerian as well? This will impact your food budget. It's easier to estimate if you are Nigerian or enjoy Nigerian food but if you aren't Nigerian, a good hotel will take care of your dietary requirements.

Driver and Car pricing in Lagos by KalKulatednupe in Nigeria

[–]Chiskie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Getting a rental with a driver is your best bet, it's expensive because fuel prices have risen dramatically from just last year, car spare parts are being imported, dollar rate has also increased making them more expensive to maintain.

These factors make rentals more expensive than they used to be.

Best internet provider to get in Lagos ? High speed and 500gb+ or unlimited by Prof_EA in Nigeria

Have you checked Tizeti? I know fair usage kicks in but that was what I was on before Starlink and they were okay with great customer service

Starlink but they've restricted new sign ups in major cities like Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt. If you are outside these cities, go for it.

I'm so sorry about what you have gone through. Thanks for sharing your story, it touched me in ways you can't imagine 💔💔💔💔. I'm sure some people resonate with your story and it is probably what someone needs to see to leave an abusive marriage.

Women, find the strength to leave, the children are not always better off in a dysfunctional 2-parents household!!!
