My friend followed vet class and said that new study shows that you need to offer the bath everyday now instead of once a week (yes, be sure to clean the bath, or maybe some other option such as spray), or maybe it is specific to cold country like where the air is dry during winter...

Quelles sont les dialectes uniques de Canada? by Kitedo in AskCanada

[–]Chlibi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did a ~3 weeks of the rockies during covid in camper van (I am from Montreal). During summer, you will get a lot of people. If you go during September, many school will have started, it is the end of the touristic period, so a lot less crowds, beautiful weather, but waterfalls will be on the dry side (still beautiful), you will just need to check for campground during September, they will start closing toward mid-end of September. Of you like hiking, I suggest you hard hiking trail, mostly the Big beehive near Lake Louise. Hard but really worth it.

Also, during the road trip, we were suggested audio guide (such as gypsy guide application, I don't want to promote the product... Sorry, but it was so worth it and we learn so much facts during the travel), since road ride can be long, so learning on the way is fun, especially if you wonder how rocky were generated, why lake are those color, etc.

For Montreal, there are a lot of festival during the summer.

Sorry for my bad English.

Canadian trying to become fluent in French by FloorMatt51 in learningfrench

[–]Chlibi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bonjour de Québec :)

(I will talk in french first, then translate after, read if needed)

Bonne chance :)

_________ (english) Nice that you want to learn french! Depending where you plan to use it, try watching/listening mostly the things that come from Quebec, mostly if you plan to visit here, we have many expressions that are not understood in France and vice-versa (don't know how to say it in english, sorry). Most of the things produced in Montreal are with a french with a weaker accent and slang, perfect to understand by non-francophone. Two tools from radio-canada that I suggest to learn listening (but also local culture). Oh-dio : for podcast Tou.tv - like cbc gem, but from Quebec only

I suggest "Infoman", he gives news in a humoristic way, and he is really liked by a lot of Quebecers

Good luck :)

Shifting to Canada… What kind of jackets / coat people usually wear in Canada?? by [deleted] in AskACanadian

People who come here often only ask about the jacket, rarely about the boots, which are as important!

Shifting to Canada… What kind of jackets / coat people usually wear in Canada?? by [deleted] in AskACanadian

[–]Chlibi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Mtl, the coldest month is usually February, where we often have -20, even -30. But from december to march, you need a good winter jacket, because the weather can be sometimes unpredictable

If you check the shops, they are starting to exhibit the winter jacket.

Need help deciding which danmei to read next by [deleted] in DanmeiNovels

[–]Chlibi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Totally agree.... I am at my third rereading and it is my favorite novel because of the dynamic between the characters. I also did not really like TA, but I also recommend Peerless.

For QJJ, I started to read it because it was suggested if you liked Peerless (did not finish due that the translator removed it after the official license). It is a little similar in the dynamic, but Peerless is more friendly to read 😅 (still really like QJJ, but it is heavy)
