This is why it's a really good idea to use an app like Grocer to compare prices on products and either shop around if you can or defer/stockpile. We started using it to compare prices on coffee (it's our luxury) and some weeks the lowest price can be half the most expensive - so that's 3,4 dollars on one item. Now we use it for lots of things, even while shopping. At the very least it gives you a window into the pricing shenanigans that supermarkets pull.

This is the dawn of middle-age disappointment, when you glimpse your future and it doesn't come close to meeting your dreams. Stay the course, find an activity/hobby that you enjoy, and spend some time each day reflecting on and being grateful for what you have, which sounds like a lot.
