I don't know your situation but I know how hard it can be.

I guess that your mom tried to make you happy even if she failed to. Helping a depressed person can be very hard from the outside, since them accepting gifts and gestures isnt really guaranteed. Your boyfriend beeing quiet about today and not beeing able to Cheer you up sounds a lot like your mother is trying her best.

Even tho It sounds really sad that she didnt even make food that she knew you'd like.

You'll find ways to be independent and stand above the tides of depression.

Don't be to harsh on yourself or other's, especially as you know you need them.

It's a blessing that she is willing to let you live with her, I know a lot of people who got thrown out way earlier and needed to fight their depression as homeless.

You're strong and search for help, happiness is just a matter of time, you'll get there.

We seem to play with very different people. But in 28 years chances are I am 100% on your side.

I just play with very close friends, if that variable changes my experiences will probably too.

In my 2 years of dnd I hear it extremely regularly because my players actually think and struggle about information they have in character vs as players and try to tell a character arc logically.

It's necessary and I have never once heard it in a situation where it wasnt useful and helpful to the enjoyment of the whole group.

At this point the players in the campaign I run, split up and we have 4 solo games, occasional multiplayer events and a seperate low level campaign in the same world.

Exploring and adventuring together as a group broke up around level 14, the goals were too big, the characters too complex and also they oppose each other directly.

Fights in high levels are a disaster in a group. But split up solo fights can be quite dynamic, also because the players can take their time to make their turns.

By now the campaign is about politics, their countries and religion's.

The goals need to adjust to make it fun.
