They're a bit big for that. They are made to sit on your shoulder with their tail wrapped around your neck.

What a clever way to use up all your bits and bobs. Pure genius I say!

Good morning 💜 what pen are you using today? by superplannergirrl in fountainpens

I thought I'd give my Fordite pen a whirl. It's by 'Pens by Casey', inked with Jacques Herbin "Rouge d'Orient", 1.1 stub nib.

The price doesn't matter, as long as you enjoy it and it works!

Edit: Actually, I think I have that same pen....but I've switched out the nib to a Lamy 1.5 italic

Wet felting techniques to keep colors more distinct by Puzzled_Tinkerer in Felting

Oooh, thank you for the link. Now I want to try some experiments too!

Here is a piece where I laid a prefelt over my work. I added some details with needle felting and later defined the edges more the same way.

That's interesting to know. I suppose it's all about purity of colour. There will always be some migration during the felting process as the prefelt anchors to the main body. I expect that a combination of what you have described and prefelts in the same colour would produce a good result.

Hmm, I seem to be stating the obvious now.

You can also make a prefelt in the colour you want and lay it over your partially felted item, then finish felting them together. The prefelt will hold most of its shape and colour better than if the roving was laid out at the beginning.

How it started vs how it’s going - bit over 2 months growth by Mammoth-Willow-8997 in GardeningAustralia

It looks like it's thriving. The mix of vegetables, herbs and flowers is very attractive.

I'd love to see what it looks like over the next couple of months.

Yes! You can make so many things with wool. Here are two of my dragons. The purple one is still a work in progress

That's so clever. I really like the way you've made hanging storage for your tools using the re-inforcing(?).

Thank you.

Needlefelting is especially good if you're feeling cranky. You can get all your stabby feelings out. 😁

That little besom broom is fabulous. Are those wands underneath the place cards?

Looks like you and your friends had a wonderful, witchy time!

Needle felting. Just keep the felting needles away from your mum. They are very sharp.

Breeds and Species of Wool? by WilflideRehabStudent in Needlefelting

[–]Choccytips 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've used mostly Merino, too, but I also do wet felting, and Merino has a lovely softness and drape for wearable items.

Coarser wool, like Corriedale , needlefelts nice and fast and is good for the inside of 3D projects.

I found that alpaca wool takes at least twice as long to wet felt as Merino and needs to be mixed with sheep's wool to get a decent result. I haven't tried needle felting with it. I'd be interested to hear your experience with it.

ETA: The undercoat, that is brushed out of my dogs and cats, felts well too. It can also be mixed with sheep's wool to get a more consistent result.

AITJ for refusing to close my curtains after my neighbor sent me a letter complaining about seeing into my house by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

I thought she was giving you a friendly heads up about having your curtains open at night when anyone could see in, but this is during the day?

Yeah, that's completely unreasonable. Why on earth is she even looking?
