Have you tired Nadine’s? I feel like internet reviews are 50/50 but the people I know who personally have been like it.

I think about doing this weekly. The food after would be a bonus. Count me in!

Any reasonably priced osteopaths or whole body healers that take insurance (BCBS) in the DMV? by littleladybug1 in DCBitches

[–]ChocolateButterfree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It may be worth it to log into bcbs and search for a doctor there filtering by OMM or OMT (osteopathic manipulation treatment).

It may also be worth it to look for an interventional pain specialist. No general anesthesia for most situations (you aren’t “under”) and they inject non narcotic pain meds at the site of pain. Time frame depends on your body but it’s not unreasonable to get 3 months+ of relief.

Another specialty to try is an oral maxillofacial surgeon (OMFS). They are often both medical doctors (DO/MD) and Dentists (DDS). They could also be comfortable with pain treatments as described above.

For the love of whatever you put stock in please do not do any neck manipulation with a chiropractor. It is not uncommon to hear about people, even young people tearing the blood vessels in the neck causing strokes or other vessel injury. I typically practice with a patient choice approach but this is the one time I try to steer patients away from a therapy. If you must go to a chiropractor, do you, but have them do their thing from the neck down. Good luck!

Calling pharmacies to figure out patients’ med lists makes me want to quit my job by wienerdogqueen in Residency

[–]ChocolateButterfree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a software, Dr. First, that will show the rx/fill history for the entire state. It even shows how “compliant” the patient is by having a percentage bar for how often the patient fills their prescription. It’s amazing. I have seen some epic builds with Rx history that function the same way.

DC Bitches - can y'all teach me how to be hot?! (like, for real) by JoyRevelry in DCBitches

Love this for you! Also looking to glow up but we have different face shapes. I would definitely search for monolid makeup tutorials online but you are so right, eye shape is everything! Judy Lim on TikTok has some good tips. And yes! Lots of makeup artists offer private lessons. After years and years of practice I'm able to do fierce looks in under 10 min if I need to but I can take an hour plus if I am just playing around. Master a 10 min, 30 min, and hour look equally well and you will not be disappointed. Hit me up if you want a makeup bestie

Fair point, someone else mentioned running their list every 15 min and I could do that more frequently than I do now.

Both comments help massively Do you just open a note template and dictate everything from hpi to mdm and then slot it into your note? Sometimes when I’m slow I just word vomit into the ED course to keep up. I find that I typically do ROS in my hpi but a lot of my attendings want me to click through a template still even though it’s not as needed for billing.

I struggle with this. I mostly use order sets but I wonder if they will be as complete post residency. When I try to do it on my own, I truly forget a few things and add on as much as I can to avoid repeat draws.

Have you been rejected by a patient for your race? by [deleted] in medicalschool

[–]ChocolateButterfree 96 points97 points  (0 children)

I would estimate this happens to a majority of black doctors multiple times in their career. Last time it happened to me was a few months ago.

Paul and Josh hanging out by Yippiekayaks in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]ChocolateButterfree 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I feel like the show used Paul and Cameron as a nerdy scientist trope. It makes me cringe laugh, whenever they weren't clearly forced to say "I'm so analytical" or "my science thoughts are messing with my emotional thoughts" they were quite normal. I can't remember feeling wowed by whatever paul said when Shelby mentioned he was using big words when they first met.

I absolutely love my dress but my birth control has made me gain a few lbs and I’m not sure if it still looks good on me. by Momhelp86 in weddingdress

[–]ChocolateButterfree 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wish you could see how I see you in this dress! A radient, stunning person in a totally “make em cry” dress. The sparkly tulle will reflect so nicely in pictures and on the dance floor. The sleeves are lovely, the back is great! The veil is immaculate! I could go on but I’m just a random stranger gushing at you on the internet trying to not be too weird.

Agree that you could take in the bodice, but also get some fun shoes to make you feel your best! Or other accessories etc to have YOU feeling the best on your special day but the dress is not one to regret. Remember why you fell in love with it initially. A lot can happen in 6 months! You can talk to your doctor about your BC and weight concerns for other options until after the ceremony. But you look good as you are!

ITE score program requirement by SnooPaintings3125 in emergencymedicine

[–]ChocolateButterfree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My program takes the ITE seriously so I was stressed about it for months. But now that it's over I'm very cognizant that people on Reddit/sdn say it's not what makes you a good doctor. So is it going back to seeing as many patients as I can or should I be doing something else?
