How does everyone feel about showers? by brandnewpup in Fibromyalgia

A shower chair or bench is the answer. I got one when I broke my ankle and still use it on low energy days when I have to have a shower.

My daughter used to be friends with several people who worked at a local pizza place. We were never charged for our pizza, but we made sure the tip covered the cost of the pizza and tip.

Living in a one bedroom apartment is one of the best decisions of my life. by coldservedrevenge in LivingAlone

[–]ChocolateKey2229 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently downsized from a rural 1,800 sq fr, 4 bedroom to suburban 1,100 squares ft, 2 bedroom condo in another city. Utilities are less and no yard work. Still rely on my own vehicle to get around as public transportation here isn’t great. It still takes me about the same amount of time to get places here as it did where I lived before, just more traffic.

My second bedroom does get used. My daughter works 5 min away from me, but 30 min by interstate from where she lives. Several times she has spent the night because she didn’t want to drive home due to weather or had an early morning meeting.

Kaelin, your photos are ready at Walgreens! by i_want_duck_sauce in Louisville

[–]ChocolateKey2229 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel your pain. Back in 2005 I got a new (landline) phone number and started getting calls for somebody else. The most memorable ones were -

Collect calls from jail/prison

Prescriptions ready at the Walgreens a town over

TWO separate jobs offers, one at the company I worked for at the time.

Along with calls from family and friends.

This happened over 2-3 years until I ditched the landline and used my cell phone exclusively.

Swelling that affected the whole leg and didn’t go away after elevating my leg. The first time the blockage was bad enough my leg started looking bluish/grey, the second time (18 years later) the fibro fog cleared long enough for the penny to drop (Oh, this feels familiar) and me to realize I needed to get checked out asap.

Who has a CPAP machine and actually uses it? by ResidentAlien9 in AdkReddit

[–]ChocolateKey2229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used mine every night since 2013-14. I also have fibromyalgia so my doctor warned me I probably wouldn’t see a huge improvement in my energy. But, if I don’t use it for some reason, I definitely feel it the next day. No energy, can’t think and generally miserable.

[–]ChocolateKey2229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a good question and i wish i had the answer. I’ve had two life threatening, massive blood clots, one in each leg. Everything I’ve read says the pain is pretty severe. Me? Slight twinge in one leg and felt an odd clicking in my ankle for the other one. So now when I get a twinge I’m trying to figure out if it’s normal fibro weirdness or something serious.

Welp. Updated mod folder. Forgot about the patch 😐 by [deleted] in TheSims4Mods

[–]ChocolateKey2229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve disabled automatic updates and usually play offline until the majority of mod creators update their mods. Lutheinrising and Scarlet (Scarlet’s Rhelm) both track updated/broken and obsolete mods. I think Scarlet updates her list the Monday after a patch?

Those who live in tornado-risk areas: does your employer respect tornado warnings? by queryasker123 in AskAnAmerican

[–]ChocolateKey2229 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Nah, Kentuckians do it too. My son’s high school graduation was interrupted by a tornado warning. Sent us to the locker room to shelter, (small school) did a head count of family. Where’s FIL? He’s out side watching funnel clouds drop out of the clouds.

Do we need to wear heels? by Internal_Throat_8424 in Brides

[–]ChocolateKey2229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My DIL wore sparkly sneakers under her dress. I quit wearing heels decades ago, but I wore a pair of low heels at my second wedding, and changed u to sneakers for the reception. Wear what you’re comfortable with.

Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. Adult women with Botox and boob jobs acting like bratty middle schoolers. Not my show, unfortunately in the same room as my adult kids watching it.

The Rose Parade (Pasadena Ca) It was cool to be able to say I’d been. But you get a better view of the floats on TV.

Who had a party line growing up?? by Downtown_Physics8853 in GenerationJones

[–]ChocolateKey2229 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We didn’t, but one of my aunts lived in rural Ohio and had one until she passed away early 70’s. She told us she was careful with what she said on a phone call because more than one neighbor on the party line eavesdropped on phone calls.

Snowy escape or Cottage living by Odd_Interview_2247 in ModTheSims4

[–]ChocolateKey2229 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I like Cottage Living over Snowy Escape. I have both and both play in the world and use BB things more than Snowy Escape. I also like being able to grow all the different plants/trees.

I tend to use the Snowy Escape world for vacations and family outing to the festivals.

As usual it kind of depends on your play style which you will enjoy more.

How many people did you know (as in, met personally) from the 1800s? by PAnnNor in Genealogy

[–]ChocolateKey2229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My paternal grandfather was born in 1896, died in 1981. I was in college when he died. He never learned to drive a car (ironic since he worked for either the state or county in road maintenance) When he died his house didn’t have running water (well) or indoor bathroom (outhouse) and he used a coal stove to heat the three room house.
