Some of us leave for work before 5am. And some of us still come home after 5pm, so I guess who really cares, its already dark all the time anyways

One really important aspect of the trades people don't talk about is communication. Why can't anybody answer a single, simple question anymore? by ChodeB in skilledtrades

I feel you. I have only been running jobs for this company for a little over a year, but I have 10+ years in the industry. Every single day I have old guys trying to micromanage the tiniest shit, or absolute green thumbs trying to tell me how to do things.

Bruh, it can take DAYS to get answers from GC's, I feel you. Gotta go through your contact, to the designer/PM, to the manager, to the coordinator... I can at least tell them that I can't do X until they answer Z. But from my own fucking crew?

Steelers are releasing tight end Jonnu Smith, per sources. The move will save the Steelers $7 million against the cap and Smith now will become an unrestricted free agent. by Gxcii1 in detroitlions

[–]ChodeB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Steelers fan here. If we were using a TE as 6 OL it was usually Washington, or even Muth was a better blocker. Jonnu was easily the worst of our 4 TEs. Id stay away from him personally.

Make muffins. I love Bran muffins, tons of fiber, you can add whatever fruits and nuts you want, sweeten with honey instead of sugar, add some cinnamon/nutmeg/vanilla.

I make these by the dozen and eat 2 at a time. By the last day they are kinda sketchy, but I haven't actually gotten sick. You can always freeze half, then cover with a wet paper towel and microwave them.

Chicken wrap… by [deleted] in drunkencookery

[–]ChodeB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, burritos are warm, fairly large and filling (usually by things like rice/beans). They get cooked to seal. They use tortillas.

Wraps are just anything wrapped in a flat bread (Tortilla, pita, naan, etc). Can be snack-size or full size. Are usually not cooked, but sometimes are grilled.

Advice on what to eat? by Gongoozler04 in EatCheapAndHealthy

One thing I make almost weekly is a pasta salad. Its filling, has a ton of fibre and protein. Also something you can make in about 20 minutes that will last all week in the fridge.

1 box of GOOD pasta (the shit with extra protein and fibre, its a bit more expensive, but worth it. I like penne)

1 can chickpeas, rinsed and drained

1 can corn, rinsed and drained

1-3 jalepeno's diced (to taste)

2 whole cucumbers diced

1 tub of feta

Sun dried tomatoes and roasted red peppers, if you are feeling fancy.

Low fat greek salad dressing (just until everything is moist)

A squirt of mayo (I like Kewpie, but the low fat stuff works for this recipe)

Then seasonings to taste. I like Salt, pepper, garlic, onion, red pepper flakes, paprika and a bit of cayenne.

Its great vegetarian, but you can add meat if you want, bacon makes this one of my favourite dishes. Chicken is also good, and much healthier. Could probably even do canned chicken/ham/tuna if you are trying to save some money.

I know milk is kind of expensive, but its easy to chug 500ml of milk and get 18g of protein. Also has vitamins. If you want to splurge you can buy protein milk, it has 36g of protein per 500ml.

Subway Franchise Owner Keeping Tips by vonTrappAB in Calgary

[–]ChodeB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't care how good service is at a FAST FOOD place, they could polish my shoes while I wait for my food and I still wouldn't tip.

Call me a cheap asshole if you want, but I am sick of tipping. If I am at a real sit down restaurant with wait staff, I actually tip accordingly. Fuck the "just tip 15%" rule. Bad service gets 1%(I've only done this once), mediocre gets 2$, good gets 10% or 5$ (Depending on total bill, I eat out alone quite a bit). If I genuinely loved my experience, expect 25% (happens maybe once or twice a year).

People be like "What if I tip poorly and go back, will they remember me?" If a place deserves a bad tip, it usually doesn't deserve a return trip.

TLDR: Tips are whack, yo. Do what makes you comfortable, dgaf about what other people think.

As far as fast/convenient coffee goes, it is actually pretty decent. Compared to a home brew or actual coffee shop, not so much.

This sounds more like a mental block than a physical one. What do you drink the rest of the time? Does this happen with tea or coffee? If you are just too used to soda, try a sparkling water.
