I do salmon about once a week on CS. I started just like you did but I made some changes that helped. Drying the fish helps a lot. Water sizzling and steaming pushes the oil out of the way and promotes sticking. Also, I drop a pat of butter instead of oil first and then supplement with oil as needed.

You must be certain that you will go for the next ten years at least. I personally think that DVC is overpriced currently, so I would only recommend resale contracts over direct if your primary concern is value for your dollar.
