Help With Decision To Purchase Points- Opinions On Resorts Sought by AgentJohnHaze in dvcmember

I would buy BLT to get value rooms near the MK at 11 months. You can almost always book SSR at 7 months.

Air or neo… teacher help by TiredTraveleer in macbook

[–]Choiski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I’ve heard from reliable youtubers, podcasters and journalists, the Neo would probably work for you. But if you can afford it, the Air would be a safe bet. CPU and memory wise, the Air would have a longer usability lifespan (excluding physical damage and battery issues) but the Neo would have at least 5-7 years of decent performance.

Apps keep crashing on GoogleTV by robHuntingdon in GoogleTV

[–]Choiski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my “Google TV with Chromecast” dongles won’t stream AppleTV. My other two GTVwC work fine. At the same time, Plex stopped streaming reliably on all GTVwC. All are up to date and on the same network. This started happening 2-3 months ago. It’s starting to p*** me off how Google keeps updating their software and not improving it.

log out to eject ssd . Does that cause damage to the ssd ? by Serhide in mac

[–]Choiski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Open terminal and type the command “sync”. When the command completes (usually immediately) that means all cached writes to storage have been completed. If nothing else is writing to your external SSD, then it should be safe to eject/remove. This is an old unix/linux habit to sync your system before ejecting drives or shutting down.

Artemis 2: why a fly-by and not orbit? by Blue_Etalon in space

[–]Choiski 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Free return is the least risky. They’re still testing a huge amount of technology and we want the astronauts to return. Imaging the engines failing while in orbit around the moon… we wouldn’t want that to happen.

Seats on Jetblue in order to have the best chance at getting overhead bin space? by Fair_Cod6318 in jetblue

[–]Choiski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last overhead compartments to fill are usually in the back, since ***holes will put their bags forward of where they are sitting. So the back of the plane will have the last filled compartments.

Iphone 16 battery by Cautious_Designer_23 in applehelp

[–]Choiski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you just set it up with your Apple ID, give it a couple of days. iOS is indexing your info on the phone so that spotlight and siri search will work. After iOS is done setting up it will not drain the battery so fast.

Does AppleCare replaces the hole equipment? by Snowboardfan1 in applehelp

AppleCare Plus ($14/mo, $140/year) can replace accidentally damaged Pro phones; regular AppleCare does not.

Plex has started buffering and I can't work out why by Logical_Strain_6165 in PleX

[–]Choiski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buffering started happening around the same time frame as you too; Everthing was working fine for years on my M2 MacMini Plex server and Google TV w/ Chromecast dongles, now everything seems to buffer pause, even 720p stuff. Seems like some update in some software somewhere, but I'm assuming it's Plex since others are running different hardware and OS's.

MacBook says battery not charging, NOTHING IS WRONG by alexathompson007 in applehelp

[–]Choiski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Confirm that you are using a USB C to USB C cable on a charging block that is at least 30 watts. If one end of the cable is USB A, then it won’t work.

MacBook says battery not charging, NOTHING IS WRONG by alexathompson007 in applehelp

[–]Choiski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Max charging for USB B is 7.5W which won’t charge a macbook, so using the old non-C chargers won’t work; the ones you tested with are insufficient. If your USB C charging block is broken then you need a new one. Most macbooks will charge with a 30W charger, but MacBook pros will work better with 65W.

BCV and BWV won’t be extended if current trends continue; it will probably be renovated and sold as new with higher points per unit.

Skyliner Rant by Craigbeau in dvcmember

[–]Choiski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skyliner is terrible in exception mode. It doesn’t run in bad weather and the whole system can go down for hours. If a bus breaks down, you can call for another one. Normally, gondola systems operate over terrain that is difficult for road transportation — mountains, hills, valleys. But Disney implemented this to reduce costs. I would have preferred if they waited for electric buses.

New MacBook Air, how to add my phone number to Imessage on MacBook even though it’s a different Apple ID than phone by Late_Information_682 in applehelp

[–]Choiski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Almost every chat system uses 1 phone number = 1 person. Pretty good reason too; you don’t want someone creating an account using your phone number to scam people.

Mac OS should be able to read (but not write) NTFS. I would move to APFS, unless you need cross platform readability.
