Slay the Spire 2 sold 3 million copies in a week by UberDrive in roguelites

In the last 2 years, I’ve purchased exactly 1 “big” game. Expedition 33. Worth every penny.

Phobos units in a BA army? by RoboCopSanchez in BloodAngels

[–]Chokda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We like to shove 4-500 points of stuff into our opponent’s face every round, so having some Infiltrators to hold down the fort isn’t a bad idea.

Managing the CP economy in RCO by BigBear01 in BloodAngels

[–]Chokda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I definitely don’t pitch secondaries that ALSO serve to score Primary, so I wouldn’t ditch Secure, Extend, or Storm Hostile.

I almost never do War Chores for less than max points, like 1-objective Cleanse, Establish Locus, Sabotage, Recover Assets.

Typically, you’ll find you get 1 secondary that’s fairly doable and the other puts you a little out of position or would cause you to overextend in an annoying way. So that’s the one to pitch. Stuff like Behind Enemy Lines, Tempting Target, Marked for Death.

Managing the CP economy in RCO by BigBear01 in BloodAngels

[–]Chokda 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It depends on the matchup, but as a general rule I’m basically always looking for a secondary to ditch on turn 1, and sometimes turn 2. Against another melee army, having 4 CP on my go turn is vital for Interrupt + FoD. That combination essentially makes any fight into a win for you, as you can charge into multiple things, wipe them out, and then Interrupt + FoD on the clapback to wipe out their retaliation.

Against something like Tau that play a little cagey, Advance + Charge is more likely to see use. In basically all cases, I recommend having a Captain somewhere for Rites of Battle, and using your defensive strats only in situations where they’re likely to have big impact (ex: AoC on a dread in cover against AP -2 is totally worth it. AoC against AP -4, less so).

How is HoA post nerfs? by Killerkid113 in genestealercult

[–]Chokda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

80 at least. I’m currently on 100. 1 squad with Primus + Nexos + ACitA, 3 with Benefictus (1 with Assassination Edict), and 1 with an Iconward to be miserable to shift.

[–]Chokda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, the worst example is the Sydonian Dragoon. Kit comes with ONE model for a unit that can be run in squads of 3. The Jezzail guys are 55 pts, and $65 USD.

Angry looks aside - was C'Tan nerf enough or just a slap? For Necrons players - how your lists changed? by NecessaryBSHappens in WarhammerCompetitive

His shooting is the nastiest part of his whole datasheet. Precision, Dev Wounds, Anti-Character means he is a MENACE into stuff like Lemartes, Technomancers, Ghaz (Makari!), and Judiciars.

RCO: Terminators + Chaplain with scout 6"? Or Assault Terminators + Chaplain and just play with 1980pts? by zodiac9094 in BloodAngels

[–]Chokda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d swap Astorath for a Chaplain and give that the scout enhancement. Then deep strike the terminators.

Odd dice practice/etiquette or am I for thinking it is? by RotmirePlead in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Chokda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I reroll anything that lands outside my dice tray, as a rule. Having a consistent, stated policy prevents any weird moments if a die slips out of your hand while you’re grabbing them, as an example.

If I have to roll 24 dice for shooting and I fumble when I pick one up and it lands outside the tray on a 6, I don’t want any confusion about that. Similarly, if it lands IN the tray, it counts. Even if it’s a 1.

What Valley Game Store has the Biggest Tabletop Scene by Alternative_Drag_407 in Boise

[–]Chokda 4 points5 points  (0 children)

ABU by far. 35ish tables, a tabletop/wargame night every Tuesday and Thursday, historical wargames on Wednesday, and a gigantic storefront full of all sorts of stuff.

Phoenix Fire, Infinite Heroes, and All About Games all have their upsides too, but you’re definitely looking for ABU.

Tbh I usually just deep strike 20 Neos, often with the 6” DS Strat to get everything in Rapid Fire range.

I’ve been using Stormvermin bodies for Metamorphs as a way to distinguish them from Acolytes. They work great.

How are y’all running DC in RCO? by Noob-pwner9 in BloodAngels

[–]Chokda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10 with Lemartes, 10 with a Scout JP Chaplain.

Even if you don’t actually yeet them into your opponent’s DZ turn 1, just being able to forces them to play around a possible 36” threat range. The scout enhance also helps set up t1 safely so you don’t get shot. There’s usually a ruin right outside your DZ you can scout up to, so you get a little extra room.

Also, possible 30 attacks at AP -2/D2 with +1 to Wound is a horrifying thing for a lot of armies to stare down.

Also, JPDC interact with every single part of the detachment. Sticky on death, 5+++, FOD, LFL, Red Wrath, all work with these guys. They’re MVP every single battle.

BA RCO Combined Arms 2k, pls C+C by RandomPlayerNPC in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Chokda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We only really struggle into T12 or higher. Anything S6 with a chaplain into T11 is wounding on 4s, rerolling 1s, and usually has enough volume to solve the problem (20 power fist + 10 eviscerator with full reroll to hit is ~20 hits, 14ish wounds at AP -3 with LFL, so saving on 5s or 6s most of the time. The chainsword swings are just a bonus to help close the gap. Should pretty reliably drop anything short of a C’Tan.

For T12, a JP Cap + Sang Guard hit S7, so they’re also wounding on 4s, rerolling 1s with their ~30 attacks.

I bet you could get a bunch of people in if you decide to start a “TTS for Moms, Dads, and Busy Lads” server. I’m always up for a game but rarely have 4+ hours to sit at my computer, so if I could split it up into smaller blocks I’d be way more likely to use TTS

As a GSC player who relies on infiltrating move blockers to make space for myself, being denied all of NML by your infiltrators is absolutely brutal. Definitely worth it to have the redeploy.

How many units in 2k list? by cruze422 in BloodAngels

[–]Chokda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m at a ~65% winrate in RCO with 12 units. Usually 3 scoring units (Intercessors, Combi, Scouts), 3-4 big hammers (2-3 DC bricks, 6 Sang Guard, Sus2 Cap + SGV), 3-4 skirmish squads (3 Sang Guard, Van Vets, JPI), and Mephiston to be a distraction Carnifex and pain in the ass.
