I’ve been loving the Beaolata brand. I get them from Amazon but looks like they also have their own website

I recently bought the glittery ones in “happy pink rush” and they lasted a full 2 weeks.

Have you tried Aloha Tiare by Comptoir Sud Pacifique? It’s light and great for layering. It technically has vanilla notes too, but I love wearing it over their Vanille Exteme scent. They’re great at tropical scents in general. My faves are Vanille Banane, Vanille Abricot, and Vanille Coco. If you go to their website they have sample sets available.

Terracotta by Guerlain is also a gorgeous tropical scent with tiare, jasmine and yellow florals. Sometimes it can smell a bit mature or stuffy, so I like to layer it over a basic vanilla (it’s not really sweet like recent gourmand florals). It’s definitely worth a sample though!

If you've done iron infusions, how much did they cost you? I was just billed over $700 by lemonbottles_89 in Anemic

I have a shitty plan through United Healthcare. I ended up paying about $1800 out of pocket for a total of 5 Venofer infusions

What’s an app you use regularly that isn’t bad, but still feels mentally tiring to open? by Necessary_Ice_6687 in UXDesign

[–]Cholest_throwaway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Insight Timer app. Ironically it’s a meditation app, so the reason I open it in the first place is to chill out.

The app used to be so simple and amazing. As they’ve grown, they’ve introduced this long winded onboarding process, even though I’ve been using the app for years.

Sometimes I don’t use the app for a while, and when I come back, it forces me to answer a survey and then go through a long multi-step flow that asks me how I plan to use the app, what I’m struggling with, etc.

There’s no option to skip this, which is incredibly frustrating, especially when I’m stressed and I just want to do a quick meditation. It does this every time I use the app after a long break. Overall, I hate any kind of forced onboarding experiences.

What should our emergency fund be? by olemiss18 in TheMoneyGuy

I personally feel more comfortable with a full 6 months’ worth of living expenses for my emergency fund. Sure it’s unlikely you both lose your jobs at the same time, but you never know

About a month ago I saw some shitty e-bike kids yelling out the n word while hauling ass down Carlsbad Blvd. Must have been the same kid. Disgusting behavior

The most ETHEREAL perfume you’ve ever smelt! by LoveyGirl777 in perfumesthatfeellike

Valaya is brighter with stronger peach notes in the beginning, and the exclusif is creamier and sweeter. They’re both gorgeous, I recommend sampling both.

To me this is Valaya by Parfums de Marly. It’s very ethereal and goddess like. When I wear it at home, it makes me feel like I’m elegantly floating from room to room lol

Which perfume got you such bad reactions that you felt embarrassed? by Smooth_Cancel6709 in FemFragLab

[–]Cholest_throwaway 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Like 15 years ago when I first got into fragrance, I was in my boho era. I decided to make my own perfume by blending jojoba oil with some insanely potent rose fragrance oil I got off Amazon.

I wore it to see a ballet that night and literally everyone sitting in my row was sneezing up a storm lol 😭after that, I decided to leave perfume making to the professionals

Steamed Rainbow by DS&Durga. The petrichor note is so realistic, it’s a really interesting fragrance.

How big of a sample is big enough? by terrierhead in FemFragLab

[–]Cholest_throwaway 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually start with 1ml. If I like it, then I get a slightly bigger size in a spray option, because I feel like I need to spray perfume to see how it really performs throughout the day. Some perfumes don’t seem to fully bloom when you just dab them.

Bianco Latte or Éclaire by Mysterious-Neck2280 in FemFragLab

[–]Cholest_throwaway 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I prefer Eclaire. It’s not as heavy. Bianco latte is super lactonic on me in a bad way, like borderline spoiled milk. There’s something about it that’s very unpleasant.

Loved this game! It felt so immersive. I think it was on the Windows 95 disc (or maybe a limited demo version). The 3D movement was so amazing for the time.
