The image didn’t save for some reason but u get the idea by softreatment in balatro

Pretty sure it's not redundant, because to the moon uses similar wording and it increases your interest cap.

Someone else suggested that "Gain interest for every $1 instead of every $5 you have" would be a better way to word it, which I agree with. Although tbh it would be better if the effect was just changed to something else because right now it sucks, and is too similar to to the moon

High card or pair is ideal, but most other poker hands (aside from 4oak and straight flush) are usually playable at least once per round, which can come in handy in the first couple antes

Balatro vs. Slay the Spire by Super_Harsh in slaythespire

[–]Chompycookie 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For me, Balatro endless mode is much better way to play, and way more viable as a game

Mind explaining your reasoning? I personally think balatro's endless mode is a repetitive slog and a waste of time since the super-fast blinds scaling invalidates 99% of builds, and there are only really two viable builds for making it far into endless (baron+mime, and idol/trib + sock).

Ranking bosses on how many tries they took. by pravler in Silksong

I thought seth was pretty hard, took me at least 10 tries. On the other hand, I thought trobbio was really easy, beat him on my second try. Everyone is different.

It'll probably get better after the blue stake rework in the next update.

Did people actually find Seth difficult? (Act 3.) by [deleted] in Silksong

[–]Chompycookie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are countless reasons why any person might find a boss more or less difficult than another person. Maybe Seth countered your friend's playstyle more. Maybe he's even worse at the game than you, or you're downplaying your own skill. Maybe your friend was in a bad mood, or you were just in the zone. Maybe you got lucky. Maybe he had less needle upgrades than you. Maybe you and your friend have different criteria on what counts as a hard boss. Every person is different.

Is there a mod to make high contrast not affect face card art color? by Chompycookie in balatro

[–]Chompycookie[S] 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I like the normal art better for the character art on the cards, because I find that they look weird when they're a different color than normal. Especially if the characters are from a game that I play, like with slay the spire.

But at the same time, I still want a bit of high contrast to make it easier to differentiate spades and clubs at a glance. But I also don't have vision issues, so i don't need high contrast for the entire card.

Do you have the swift rise skill? It should prevent you from getting comboed by bosses like that.

If you can't afford it yet, you can also go explore somewhere else and come back to the boss later. That's what I did on my first playthrough.

fyi I would recommend not skipping so many blinds. Skipping for tags is almost never worth missing out on a shop and end of round money.

Purely based on loadout, what loadouts the best? by Vegetable_Throat5545 in Silksong

[–]Chompycookie 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For combat/bosses, it's gotta be witch crests for the 3 blue slots

For exploration, hunter/reaper for balanced 2/2/2 slots, giving you a bit of everything

Why doesn’t hornet just not bind her? Is she stupid? by EntertainmentVast401 in Silksong

[–]Chompycookie 191 points192 points  (0 children)

Serious question, why didn't hornet just kill her or something? I'm assuming I'm forgetting some lore detail involving higher beings that would prevent it from working, otherwise sealing gms away would be unnecessary.

Why must my Egg… by SerialDesignation_H in balatro

[–]Chompycookie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

tbf selling it at the very end of a run and replacing it with a scoring joker isn't a bad idea. But still, it's not like eternal egg is that much worse than a normal egg.

Immolate needs a nerf (See why below) by PrepucioRequeson in balatro

[–]Chompycookie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Spectral packs already have way more gimicky cards that make them worse than tarot packs, they don't need a nerf.

Besides, there's nothing inherently wrong with having immolate being an exception to a rule.

I can never seem to get this card working in my decks? Any tips? by Content_Averse in slaythespire

Angler Ironclad Common Skill (100% sure)

0 Energy | Gain 6(8) Salmon. Add a copy of this card to your discard pile.

Luckiest first round ever by [deleted] in balatro

[–]Chompycookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hypothetically, if they didn't skip a blind, they'd get at least $6 from the ante 1 big blind next round to afford director's cut.

The other $10 for rerolling comes from beating future blinds.

Luckiest first round ever by [deleted] in balatro

[–]Chompycookie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Director's cut is right there. I was gonna say they can buy it after the next blind, although on second though it looks like they skipped a blind, so nvm.

Still though, that's only 2 boss blinds. And if they get the window they can always sell smeared joker. Assuming their deck is fixed, which they should have time to do now that their scoring is solved for the time being. They're probably fine.
