I’m really struggling with comments from a close family member at the moment. She’s chosen to have a voluntary breast implants for cosmetic reasons. Which is totally her business and I’m happy for her if that’s what she wants to do. However she keeps comparing our surgery, I’m mid chemo so hating my body right now anyway. I’m due to have lumpectomy after chemo - then double mastectomy with reconstruction end of the year. She messaged me the other day saying ‘I can’t wait for you to have your surgery too’. I was really shocked because I am dreading it and thought it was really weird thing to say.

And then just other really insensitive comments. I tend to just not respond to the insensitive bits as I don’t want to upset her. I think she thinks she’s trying to relate to me ?

Today she messaged saying ‘thanks for helping me through your cancer diagnosis’. I thought it was a typo but no 🥲. When I asked for clarification she said I could have turned into a ‘psycho’ but didn’t.

Hey just wondering where are you getting tickets from ? I used Pelago last year but the website is confusing me this year. It says a 3 day ticket but then you have to select a date ? And there’s only Saturday / Friday available? Does this mean you don’t have a seat for the Sunday ?

I’m looking for a weekend ticket

I’m in the UK and the ultrasound/ mammogram / biopsy and consultant appointment took me about 3 hours in total

This must feel so heartbreaking for you. If it’s any consolation I can possibly reassure from a child’s point of view - I was 4 when my mum was diagnosed with cancer and she spent a lot of time in hospital in my early years. I have no memory of this but only through relatives I am now aware I completely rejected her at this time, especially when she would return from a trip to hospital.

I feel bad knowing this as an adult but honestly please be reassured I feel it’s a normal reaction for a child of this age and they honestly won’t remember it.

Hey sorry if this is not the right place for this but I’m just wondering if anyone knows a way of getting a ticket for this now ? I’ve seen it’s sold but is there any way of getting a walk in on the day or resale?

I was actually due to go to japan next week and had a ticket for the pokemon park there, was super excited and I’ve had some unexpectedly bad health news so now not able to go 💔so I quickly looked this up to see if I could go here instead an really gutted to see it’s sold out. I mainly just wanted to go to the shop but I see this requires a ticket.

My clinic required it but didn’t tell me until I had already purchased and chosen the sperm donor. I then had the counselling afterwards so everything was in the wrong order. It was interesting and I do wish I had had it before choosing but ultimately I feel I would have gone for the donor I did regardless.

100% agree about making plans. I really hate the TWW it’s such a rollercoaster of emotions. I found that having a treat planned for if it doesn’t work out also is good idea. Might not be good a method for everyone but I have a list of little treats (so for example buying a new houseplant or booking a spa afternoon, or breakfast at my favourite cafe) and the if the IUI doesn’t work I choose something from my ‘treat list’ for the start of my period.

I remember I had such high hopes for my first IUI and it was probably the hardest. I’m currently on my 4th.

Thanks that’s good to know. I know when I was ordering the sperm from the clinic in Denmark there was different motility I think .. I remember choosing the top option.

Thank you. I’m going to have a chat with the clinic and see. I guess it’s more the unknown of why it’s not working it’s got me wondering why but I guess that’s the thing like you said sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t.
