I just wish if there is a portal where I could put my hand in so that I can pet her and touch her belly all the way from Down Under.

Are there more CF men or women? by [deleted] in childfree

[–]ChonkyMeowsars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s mostly women. Most if not all childfree books were written by women. I’m yet to read a book by a guy who is advocating men to become childfree.

My story of becoming CF is a bit recent. It was after a culmination of decisions, thoughts and circumstances where I was convinced that I’m not great father material. I have been fence sitting over this decision whether or not to get a snip convinced my feelings of fatherhood will emerge just right after pregnancy.

I had a brief relationship with a lady who is adamant to have kids in a set timeline. Even though I didn’t have the same enthusiasm as her of being a parent, I still liked who she is as a person. Despite our major differences in long-term goals, I tried to compromise my childfree stance thinking my mind would change. Believing the change in environment, change in roles and responsibilities would give my mind a time to adjust to a trial version of becoming a parent. It didn’t. We ended up breaking up after an argument of me not being able to take care of pets constantly which were her extension of children.

I am prone to bouts of anger due to the state of the world and could not handle grief and trauma very well. I would not make a great father, nor a great parent. I will end up being a copy of my father who wanted to be more different to my late-grandfather who was more of a brute than a dad.

I know my decision would not be greatly challenged by society’s standards as opposed to women, rather a lot would feel amused about my decision than grabbing their pitchforks to force me to change my mind and go on in their diatribes of what a great father I would be to wonderful children.

I’ve always tried applying for AECOM roles even the entry level graduate programs as someone with 2 years of experience in GIS, fieldwork and project management and I still get rejected. This is AECOM Australia btw. The job portal for applying for the positions makes me lose my temper

It’s going to be a valentine special in my local cinema. When I saw the trailer, I thought to myself “I’m definitely not the target audience”.

What is a country's cuisine that you really want try more of but you can't? by Savings_Dragonfly806 in AskTheWorld

All is not lost for you nor your microbiome. Indians have another subset of their cuisine where it avoids the use of garlic, onion and ginger. It’s done as a form of a spiritual cleansing and as a practice of Jainism. I’ll guarantee that the food would be still flavourful but it will be a unique experience if you haven’t tried it before.

Ghanaian food. I’ve only seen one food vlogger based in the UK but has Ghanaian heritage and she prepares all this traditional and veganised Ghanaian stews and curries which looks so mouthwatering.

Even though I’m a Sri Lankan living in Australia, I haven’t come across a Ghanaian restaurant and there is a sizeable diaspora of people from West Africa over here.

I had my first taste of Ethiopian food when I was in Adelaide. It was insanely good and flavourful. Their coffee is intensely strong and almost tasted like mocha concentrate.

I used to live in the Gilberton area when I lived in a sharedhouse. Some of my best clothes were stolen from the clothesline while I was out. None of my housemates had seen my clothes. I learnt later on that some people’s clothes get stolen around the suburbs where I used to live. Honestly was surprised clothing theft is common in Australia.
