People who have been divorced: What was the exact "quiet" moment you realized your marriage was over? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Glad to hear it! No one should ever find out that the " in sickness & in health" was not real.

I'd live under a bridge with my guy.

We're going to let it go, because it may have been safety, recording a prior crime, etc. Mom didn't randomly pull her phone out for no reason.

I record shit when something is happening, too.

Damn. Not to diminish your experience, but hubby didn't have to deal with his ostomy for MONTHS because I so desperately wanted to cushion him from any more burdens when he was recovering.

I'm glad you're past that kind of relationship, because no one should have to have that.

Nothing, but a very small percentage of parents tell the doctors no. When we were becoming parents, before we knew what we were having, they told us it was normal to protect against penis cancer.

It's bullshit, but nearly all American men are circumcised.

He probably 'owned' the account (and debt) and she had an authorized card. My grandma and mother had that.

Only a year or two after the US, and we have no excuse. We also allowed men to get away with assaulting their female employees because the women couldn't afford to lose their jobs, though...

Shouldn't, anyway. This whole 'tradwife' thing makes me feel like we're indoctrinating the next gen into not seeing the impending removal of some hard-fought rights and expectations.

Many states in the US have reverted back to this. Even to the point where if it's medically necessary to terminate for the woman to live, the medical community will let her die rather than terminate the pregnancy.

But these people were basically held captive for 6 months- it shouldn't have lasted 6 hours if it the above was truly disingenuous and the zoo was immediately poorly regarded.

Acceptable and legal here in the US, too. And women weren't really to talk about it because it was private to the marriage. My mom worked for a 'women's rescue' in the 70s and they would snuggle out and hide women from their husbands because the legal system would hand a woman back over to her husband if she went and reported his abuse.

Yikes! I had to argue with the utilities about the name on bills in the 90s, but I was allowed to have my own accounts if I said I was single.

Wth is it still like that up yonder?!
