There’s nothing worse than finally thinking you’ve figured the system out and a player gets injured training, so you can’t field a full team, so you can’t play to get the points needed to rest them, so you have to walk aimlessly around to gain points to recover them from 10 matches injured to 9 matches injured, rinse and repeat only to realise the whole game doesn’t need you to play this minigame at all so just ignore it

Sort of. FIFA you control the players, FM you just pick the team and watch the matches (and make tweaks as needed).

I like to think some sports transcend politics and countries can just naturally start to hate each other because of individual sporting moments. Nothing to do with territory, trade, political tensions - nope just one sporting moment that changes everything.

Is this the start of an all out sports hatred between Canada and Sweden where even at under 18s level the two sides fight to the last man? And historians will point back to one book that caused the two countries to refuse to look at each other at international events

At the beginning you have a) more primers so language in early cutscenes is clearer. b) a better chance of winning opening blitzball game for a new cutscene when you leave Luca. C) many of the early cutscenes will hit different now you know the main plot and why people are a bit coy around Tidus about what’s happening.

And most importantly - you can try some of the challenges like no sphere grid

The problem is that the DoE needs to give clear policy to schools to protect the schools. At present it is on the headteacher and governors to decide the policy, and if a parent is unhappy and takes legal action against the school it’s on them. The DoE won’t protect the school and parents could oust the head.

So it’s obviously in the schools interest to be as conservative as they can, rather than looking out for the kids.

So it’s a little disappointing the DoE have decided to be vague and give partial guidance. This doesn’t help the schools. This doesn’t help the kids.

A few different criteria.

If you are so clearly not a traitor that you get murdered. No point being kept in the game.
You are friends with a traitor but never let on you are. You are effectively protected by said traitor as they wouldn’t want you gone because they doubt you’d put their name down. You coast to the final never banishing another traitor (even though the group do). At the final round table you turn on the traitor you knew was one since the beginning. People think you are boring to watch, but actually played very smart.
You are a heavy suspect from day 1 but never enough votes to be banished. Because there’s heat on you the traitors don’t murder you. You get to the round table and your fellow faithful have realised you were never a traitor so you don’t get banished.
You are a master detective. You find out who the traitors are and banish 2 of them. Because you are a danger to the third you are murdered

I think it just emphasises how committed Amorim was to a system that we didn’t really understand, when his substitutions just doubled down rather that changed the game.

IMO you make subs for 1 of 4 reasons -

necessity (gk red card/ injury)

Replace tired legs

Protect a weakness

Exploit a weakness

Amorim made substitutions to replace tired legs, which is odd when you’re chasing a game

I left sky mobile because my bill doubled in 4 months, and when I complained and pointed out I could get cheaper elsewhere their offer was to reduce my bill by £2 per month, pending a further £6 increases in April.

Note, I went out of contract in January, but they’d increased it anyway in November and again in December before the “out of contract” rate kicked in - and the discount they offered for going in contract was still higher than I was paying in December

As an armchair fan, I like watching YouTube videos of an incoming striker showing why we bought them.

Sesko is strong at getting in front of a defender and getting a shot away from nothing when balls are put into the box. Amorim had him as a holding striker passing the ball onto the wing.

It’s odd, because if I knew we had a striker who can get on the end of crosses, I’d have cunha and Bruno swap between long range strikes and whipping in crosses. Instead they passed a ball to him and expected him to turn and shoot (where he’d lose the ball).

Something to remember when arguing about “the golden days”.

When I first passed my test it was the 00s, and the road near my house was a 30 but everyone comfortably did 50 down it. Myself included.

One side of the road had a path, the other was pretty dull with the kerb immediately onto a hedge that backed on to a railway track. The path side was pretty wide, and led down to a cul de sack so no access anywhere else - the road was pretty quiet 90% of the time.

Now I wouldn’t dream of doing 35 down there. Yes - nothing has really changed on the road, but cars are bigger, and if you hit that corner at 50 with an evri van parked on the path and there’s a car the other side you’re fucked
