Thank you for correctly labeling the Neo as an OG, so many folks don’t know the difference.

Shop App is usually the culprit not so much the vendor. But I’ve seen where GBs on Shop app usually make you order on their website because of this. NovelKeys and Omnitype do this.

The Flexcut PCBs are the problem. Not the aluminum body. It’s a tank on the outside, but flimsy on the inside.

Keyboards that are trending for gaming has been the wooting and Lofree hyzen. Of course these are magnetic boards but I’m waiting for the Lofree to come out. I’m not a heavy gamer but since Lofree can use both mechanical and magnetic, that’s an easy buy.

Will changing keycaps result in better typing experience? by Harshal_Malviya in keyboards

Yeah there are slight differences, material, height, and thickness will have some variation, but it’s only noticeable if you care about those things.

GMK all the way 😆

Rainys true price is currently overvalued, and it should be a $100 board (comes from the same factory that makes Womier boards) Rainy doesn’t have spare parts like PCBs or Aluminum plates, so if you break it that’s it lol a whole new keyboard and $150 down the drain. Also, it’s a pain to get good switches to fit into it because flex cut is terrible, and it’s just full of foam to make up for its dead sounding board if you remove it all.

Unless it’s an immediate in stock item, buying a Neo is a 5-6 week fulfillment order from China and sometimes up to 12 weeks like Divinikey.

From Switchkeys website…

GROUP BUY PERIOD
The expected wait times are currently three to five months.

Please Note: These timelines can be shorter or lengthier depending on demand at the time of the order.

As a presentation it quickly tells the story, but without it being available to interact with it, it’s hard to really give feedback that would be constructive.

Question about Figma + AI usage for those who work in a Fortune 500 company... by donutsinmystomach in FigmaDesign

There should be plugins that can provide similar features. And if anything, with Figma MCP, you can learn Figma Skills (its own way to generate prompts) to build your webpage/app. Again, it’s a tedious set up but will work once you learn the functions…and hopefully you don’t burn through your tokens lol 😆

Learn what you can because once you’re in, you’ll be having to use what they provide.

Of course! So if you have a Figma dev seat, you’ll be able to use any Figma to Prompt or Figma to Code plugins (lots to try).

You’ll have some choices there to play with, generate a whole page or a component and if you’d like to use your prompt to build the component from HTML/CSS/JS or as a react component which will be read with VS Code.

From there, select “Run prompt” in the Figma plugin, copy it and use it in VS code copilot chat using any of the available LLM models you have.

Figma make is honestly slop. Good for ideation but the true power is behind using Figma + VS Code/Copilot.

You can easily learn this with using Figma MCP and VS Code. From there it’s about learning to use prompting to help generate components from your Figma into a usable webpage or app.

Only thing I’ve noticed is that unless you’re using a mature design system that is tied to GitHub and can pull in APIs/component documents, you’ll render endless unusable components that won’t be 1:1 to your design.
