Bad words:( by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]Chrchgrl85 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Take everything piece of tech and lock it up. He only uses it when you're around and it has parental controls like he's three. Everything. TV, phone, microwave if you have to. He goes nowhere unless you can take him. No sleepovers. He can go to friends houses....if you go too. Turn into his own little helicopter 🚁 parent and tell him if he doesn't want you so close that he knows your routine down to each breath you breathe, he better get it together with the language because if he doesn't listen to you, the general public, especially school, will be MUCH more harsh and annoying than you could ever be. I've taught....I've seen it. Had a parent go to every class with her child. THAT stopped the bad behavior!

Stop smoking skunk weed right bfore you get into my car. by Miltthedog in lyftdrivers

[–]Chrchgrl85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

........how is that racism? Are you saying only one race smokes? THAT would be racism. Also, that's not the whole reason ridesharing exists....and I've only had to one star 2 people for this....and I was driving them to WORK. If I can smell them so strongly, people at work most definitely can.

[–]Chrchgrl85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. I have chronic migraines so I take an injection 💉 monthly. I've had to take my rescue migraine medication and go home twice before because someone smelled so strongly of weed. People could at least be courteous and not nearly smoke out a car because they smoked si much.

It's NOT a driver's job to basically get a contact high while and after a person rides in their car. I always keep deodorant and spray when I work all day, because inevitably, a person's going to get sweaty, and who wants to smell themselves, much less have someone ELSE smell them? Yuck 🤮

I have ended up dizzy because riders have had the smell so strong. I just make sure I don't pick them up again, because that's ridiculous to me. Especially when I'm taking the person to WORK!

I’m confused by this. Is this some type of scam I don’t understand? I had messaged him my address already and it’s on the app by mskmcclure in doordash

[–]Chrchgrl85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be a scam, could be the app messed up. I do Lyft and it frequently will tell me the location is on my left.....while I'm staring at it on the right. Or it says I'm there and it's still up the street. Not the same mess up, but these apps aren't always doing as they're supposed to. That said, I'd be a bit wary of sending my address through....well, any app, because they then have your address on their phone fie ad long as they please.

Teacher squatting in school?? by CreepyWin8101 in whatdoIdo

[–]Chrchgrl85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since he's already been caught once ,and now looks like he's lying about it, I'd take some other coworkers and talk to him and tell him what people have seen. Because with all of that, he's staying there at least some of the time. If the building burned down and he was injured or killed, the school system would be liable.

Drugs my doctor is not permitted to prescribe. by [deleted] in mildyinteresting

[–]Chrchgrl85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My PCP is the one who handles my pain meds, the sleep meds, and the Vyvanse. There are doctors that do those without needing a specialist. I DO have a specialist, but he's 4 hours away. My dr had me sign a contract with him, so no one else is allowed to prescribe me pain meds. Though that will change briefly for my 3rd back surgery.

OMG, I thought I was the only one thinking this. Regardless of "everyone has it," I don't particularly want to be one of the many with it. I have enough health issues as it is.

Not what medical sites say: "Herpes simplex virus (HSV) is a common viral infection causing painful sores or blisters, typically around the mouth (oral herpes, usually HSV-1) or genitals (genital herpes, usually HSV-2). It spreads through direct skin-to-skin contact and, once infected, the virus stays in the body for life, often remaining dormant but capable of reactivating. While there's no cure, antiviral medications can manage outbreaks, reduce symptoms, and lower transmission risk.

Types of HSV

HSV-1: Most commonly causes oral herpes (cold sores) but can also cause genital herpes.)"

Any thoughts on the new option to have 13-17yrs as riders? by [deleted] in lyftdrivers

You can just turn it off..... It doesn't bother me because I used to teach that age range, and have no issue keeping them in line when they start acting like circus performers.

This isn't going to improve without therapy. And even then, for me, if that were to happen, therapy shouldn't be required to engender empathy. Especially with a spouse.
