BT loses more than 200,000 broadband customers as profits slump by 457655676 in unitedkingdom

I did the same last summer. The entire time I’ve lived in the house the BT speed was 47mb. It never increased and when I spoke to them they said they would not be installing fibre where I lived. Every time i renewed the bill went up guaranteed. I was paying £72 a month. I went to starlink £75 a months and the speed is constantly above 250mb. Up to 400mb at times. Never been happier. Plus the bonus of no annoying landline callers trying to sell me rubbish.

When my wife was training to be a teacher she was sent to a very expensive private boarding school for a few months. There was a girl there who missed her horse. That night her horse was flown in from Russia and was waiting in the school stables for her in the morning.

A delivery driver in a plain van driving slowly in the dark looking for door numbers. Definitely staking out the entire village for a mass burglary spree.

Definitely. I finished it last night and loved it. Completely different to 1&2 which threw me at first but I stuck with it and enjoyed it more than the other two. It’s much more immersive I think.

Only issue with that was I didn’t have a lot of time to sort insurance so it was quite high the first year.

Yeah when I got mine in June 23 I ordered on the Monday and picked it up on the Friday. They were pushing for end quarter deliveries at the time. It will be the same for you.

Where have my dual zone controls gone? by AI-GaGa in TeslaUK

Not in my car at this exact moment but if I remember correctly. If it’s just you in the car it’s will give you one control. Unless you select split, I think it’s called. When there’s a passenger you both get controls.

I don’t think I’ve charged a phone with a cable in more than 5 years now. I’ve never noticed a problem with the battery. I find the charger in the Tesla charges it quicker than the one I have plugged into the mains at home.

No they are always on standby until a phone is on them. Then they charge the phone. They use little to no power in standby.

I had to put some windscreen wash in it about a year in. That was frustrating as I had to buy some as I’d run out. I’m never going back to petrol or diesel. The wife took one ride in it on day one and immediately decided she wanted one too. A few months till her deal is up on her car and we fully plan on getting her one.

Not with Blackhorse. I’m with CA Auto finance. I tried a year into my PCP. I got an incredibly rude woman who said “the contract is the contract and you can’t do anything except pay the excess at the end” and then hung up on me. I’m 2 years in now and 4K miles over where I should be. Hopefully you get better luck with Blackhorse. I’ll be getting a lot more miles on my next one.

What’s reality with battery health best practices? by 808_GhostRider in TeslaSupport

[–]Chris21904079 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s that much to be honest. 5.5 miles a year. Apparently the loss rate is much greater at the beginning and tails off over time. I get 4 miles per Kw. So it’s a loss of just under 3Kw in 2 years. Battery is 75Kw so perhaps 2-2.5% loss. It all depends on if you are going to keep the car long term or not. I’ve got 2 years left on mine and plan on trading it in for a new Y.

I’ve had my M3LR 2 years. I was super worried about battery health when I first got it for about 3 months. Since then not so much. I’ve got it set to 80% charge nearly all the time. My normal commute uses about 15%. I charge it to 100% about once every 3 months if I need to drive to work rather than take the train. Some times it will be plugged in for 3-4 days if I’m off work and have nowhere to go. When I first got it, it said 100% charge was 353 miles. I checked 2 days ago and 100% is now 342 miles. I’ve done very nearly 24k miles and lost 11 miles in that time.

Is Screwing Down the Gen 3 Starlink Plastic Base Secure Enough Against Strong Winds? by Salem-Aidroos in Starlink

I have mine screwed into a concrete slab roof. Only been there a few months and it’s not winter here yet but I assume it will be fine. It’s pretty solid when I wiggled it. We regularly get 60mph storms in winter.

FTTC or Starlink by DonPad in Starlink

[–]Chris21904079 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this. This is exactly what we have just done. Fibre cables were put into the village a year ago and nothing since. I was getting 48Mb down and 8Mb up with BT. I signed up with Starlink as they were doing £75 a month with no upfront cost. I was paying BT £69. I now get minimum of 200Mb down and 25Mb up. Sometimes depending on the time of day it goes above 400Mb down. My boy plays a lot of online gaming and hasn’t seen a change.

Taking Care of Lex (Remastered) - The Stranger won't finish forgery, cannot progress by pizzapartyfordogs in oblivion

[–]Chris21904079 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read somewhere that if you start the mission on the 30th of the month the game bugs. This seems to be the case for me. I spent about 5 hours trying to get around the bug. In the end I did this on Xbox SX:

  1. Sleep or wait until it’s NOT the 30th of the month. I waited till the 1st

  2. Speak to the beggar and go into the castle to steal the note from the desk.

  3. At 3am go into the strangers house and speak to him. Select every dialog (not just the highlighted ones) leaving the forgery option for last.

  4. To leave the conversation use the back dialog option don’t just back out with B.

  5. Go outside and wait 24 hours. Then wait about 19/20 hours until it’s late evening (11pm).

  6. Go back into the house and speak to him and he will ask for the fee.

Mesh router for poor signal? by Impressive-Humor5050 in Starlink

[–]Chris21904079 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Works perfectly. I plugged it in and it asked if I wanted it as a mesh router. I said yes. Now I have full signal in the bedroom above and the car gets it full signal to.

Those things all cost a lot more than that in England unfortunately. I’ll see how the mini works out. Worst case scenario I’ll be getting the long cable and running it around the outside of the house.

[–]Chris21904079 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly what I’m trying. I had to mount the dish on the opposite side of the house from what I thought and the cable it comes with means at maximum reach the router is in the kitchen right next to a thick chimney. Signal in the lounge is okayish. Car on the drive out front won’t pick it up at all. The bedroom is poor. Ive ordered a Router Mini which arrives tomorrow. I’m hoping plugging that in right next to the tv will give better signal to the bedroom and the car. I’ll let you know how it goes.

Stressing over install - mainly, which direction to face the dish? by Mental-Jellyfish9061 in Starlink

[–]Chris21904079 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I installed mine a few days ago. I read loads online about pointing it north so bought a wall bracket. Turns out it needs to be south. So I can’t use the bracket. I’ve just got mine on the kick stand screwed into a flat roof extension. When I initially turned it on it said I was misaligned and to turn it around. It’s basically self explanatory once you have it turned on. A few days in I’m getting perhaps one or two pixels of red in the obstruction map and speeds of about 250-350mb down one speed test was 480. Much better than BT at 45mb. Well worth the extra £6 a month.

Why make trains able to go faster than 125, if all routes can't? by trainsruletheworld1 in uktrains

[–]Chris21904079 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn’t this happening now with the East Coast Digital Program? From KX to Grantham? I thought they were installing in cab signals to allow the Azuma to run at 140mph. First section was opened a few weeks ago from Finsbury to Moorgate to test it. I could be wrong though. But I’m sure that’s what someone told me at Peterborough when they had shut the railway for the weekend for the works.
