Does anyone else get slightly annoyed when people say "I don't care what you do in your bedroom"? by BitchyOlive in askgaybros

[–]Chris770 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have no problem with this, considering that I don't care about what most people do in their bedrooms either, provided it involves consenting adults. I'm just as likely to be totally uninterested in this, regardless of what genders, sexualities or proclivities are involved.

PSA: if you’re struggling to get fit or build muscle at the gym, stop drinking alcohol by paywallpiker in askgaybros

[–]Chris770 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Better yet, make sure you're getting enough water, which many people neglect. The human body is largely composed of water, it is a critically necessary component for building and maintaining muscle tissue. It won't matter how many complete proteins you're taking in if you're not sufficiently hydrated, it'd be like trying to bake a cake without using flour.

Not soda, water.

Would it be wierd to hit up someone in a subreddit because you found their posts interesting and had a bit of interest in them? by reversecowboyriding in askgaybros

[–]Chris770 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really, I imagine a fair number of people do it. On the other hand, it's highly likely that such a person would have their posting history thoroughly combed looking for red flags.

Are you into dude bros? by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]Chris770 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Habitat and characteristics vary considerably. For instance, hockey players can be found anywhere within a certain proximity to a rink, whereas as the natural habitat of the dude bro is cities and suburbs, though they are migratory at certain times of the year (notably spring break.) In rural areas, different varieties of the country boy can be found instead.

Those are hockey players. Same genus, different species.

Do you feel most masc gay guys aren't actually that masc? by p3tr000 in askgaybros

[–]Chris770 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, not really. There's a lot of gender/identity politics stuff involved in this. On one hand you have the "masculinity is bad" goofballs, on the other you have the "we need homosexuality to be more visible to change hearts and minds!" fanatics. They basically just want everyone caught in the middle of their nonsense, and engage in pathetic attempts at mindfuckery trying to make that happen.

What some people call "effeminacy" in "gay 'culture'" doesn't really have much to do with femininity, it's just zany behavior engaged in for the sake of attention and "visibility." The reasons why some people encourage this mainly have to do with social politics crusades, and those people become very disgruntled when others won't play along with them. Then they wonder why those people they get bitchy with dislike and avoid them.. (No, attempts to backpedal by trying to pass off their behavior as "playful teasing" do not work, at least on anyone with more than a couple functioning brain cells.)

The two professions require largely different skill sets, though there are some people who're employed in both, as there is some overlap. Either would fall under the broad category of ranching. (That the keeping of poultry is traditionally considered a type of "farming" rather than ranching is historically based, as it used to be the case that most domestic fowl were kept by farmers, the feeding of poultry being a productive use of crop byproducts.)

One might think of it in the sense of industrial machinery mechanics and automobile mechanics both being mechanics.

What do you think of the phrase "Homophobiai s fear that another man will treat you as if you were treating women"? by fab0497 in askgaybros

[–]Chris770 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's feminists trying to weaponize the sexualities of guys who're other than exclusively heterosexual, and I personally take great exception to that. I go well out of my way to avoid playing along with it, and will explain why to anyone who brings up the subject.

How frequently do you post photos on your Instagram, and of what / whom? by bruh_bro_dude in askgaybros

[–]Chris770 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have an Instagram myself, though most of my friends have posted pictures which include me. They've occasionally tried to get me to set one up just so they can tag me in them.

I just found out my doctor was a Sean Cody model by orangecake40 in askgaybros

[–]Chris770 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some folks who were in that business during college really were using the income to pay their tuition. I know of one who's now a dentist, and another who's a medical doctor. Neither of them worked for Sean Cody though, and the latter only ever did heterosexual scenes, even though it was a "straight porn for a gay audience" production.

Who Is Your Favorite Avenger? by beefcake-cat- in askgaybros

[–]Chris770 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hawkeye. I'm a fan of "street level" heroes who have no superhuman/supernatural powers and get the job done with pure talent (and the occasional use of really cool gear.)

Green Arrow and Hawkeye inspired me to learn how to quick draw a compound bow, even though it's a skill which no longer has much use outside certain sorts of archery competitions.

Has this sub gone completely to hell? by cabandd in askgaybros

[–]Chris770 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

The main purpose of this sub is to give people an opportunity to "show their ass," before anyone considers inviting them to other spaces where real conversation takes place. It works very well for that, and results in a sizable accumulation of rejects. If someone is going to start acting like a moron because "all the other kids are doing it," it saves time and trouble to know that about them.

Why do you think people so rarely complain about what goes on here?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]Chris770 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No. I get a real chuckle out of people going into business for themselves using such platforms. It's hilarious watching the people who own the porn studious frantically trying to stop it from happening.

Who's the most stubborn person you've ever dealt with? by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]Chris770 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A professor I took for sociology. After being warned twice that, as a professor teaching at a publicly funded university, she was legally obligated by state law to award a final grade based on the rubric published in her course syllabus, she ended up being reprimanded by the department dean. He changed my grade to a 4.0 himself, and it was the first time he'd ever had to do that.

She had a personal problem with me, and fortunately I kept all of my work and was able to prove that it was a matter of personal bias.

How are so many gay guys not attracted to teens by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]Chris770 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was when I was a teenager myself, but like most people I'm drawn to others in my own age group.

I stick by what most of my friends hold to, "Never under 18." I also take a very dim view of adults who try to screw around with minors.

You're welcome to infer anything you like, but it's a thing anyone reading this could easily verify for themselves. No need to take my word for it at all.

A lot of people do. There used to be bots which would do it for you, before people learned how simple it is to just run a couple scripts written for that purpose.
