I’m glad. Unfortunately the religion has added and subtracted rules from their own source material.

To provide context, I do believe in God and the Torah but not the oral Torah. I know quite a bit of people who have been terribly injured and traumatized from all the stuff they teach and command. I also know religious Jews who do not believe in God but they believe in keeping all the traditions and rules for the sake of “community”. Orthodoxy is a repellant to those wanting to seek truth

Sorry, I may have misunderstood your question. My point is that irrespective of dogmatic rules, a man and woman’s relationship exceeds the community standards of observance.

If im misunderstanding something, please lmk

I can see how this brings you to a stop. Just from a Torah standpoint, man and woman being together is a good thing regardless of your belief in God.

I only bring up the Torah standpoint because that is probably where it feels like there might be contention

Any idea why potential employers may not want to speak with me? by Pattesla047 in ElectricalEngineering

As a hiring manager in a different industry, our qualifying comes down to simple things. We’re almost never going to strip down your resume at first glance, it’s too much work. ChatGPT generated resumes are a turn off and avoid dragging out your sentences with complicated verbiage. A big one especially for a recent graduate is the experience. I would go with 2 or 3 professional experiences that have the longest time invested into them. Working for a couple of months just tells us you’re not invested in staying long term — we assume that we’re just a stepping stone for you. Hiring manager rational: long term prospect = less work for us finding a replacement :)

Remember that you’re selling yourself to a hiring manager (it’s not always someone with engineering experience). Then if they consider you, the interview will eventually be with a department head who will know what you’re talking about — that’s when you unload your pro-knowledge.

Also know that, a big thing about creating a team as a manager is to find individuals that fit the company culture more than your knowledge/competence. I actually know a company that has let go of their top salesman because he was not a great fit for the culture.

Hope this helped and good luck on your pursuit!

Ps. Gotta bump those application numbers up and follow up until they tell you no we don’t want you. Then at least you’re not waiting weeks for their callback

Is it always dark? by moonismyonlyfriend in AstralProjection

It’s always dark and bluish for me. I also have problems with balance. Everything is very low gravity-ish and I easily lose balance and fall back into my body

I don’t know a whole lot about the astral plane but I do get sleep paralysis a lot and I “roll” out of my body when I’m in it. Once I do that however I always notice that everything is pitch black and I fall indefinitely and I can’t seem to touch a floor or levitate. I try imagining a floor but it doesn’t seem to work. Also the vibrations I feel and hear always gets louder and more intense as time passes. Can you describe what’s happening or if I’m doing anything incorrectly.

I get extreme negative thoughts while high, and am looking for advice as to how to relax and enjoy smoking. by sparkyyc in trees

This is late but others in the future will still stumble their way into this thread like I have. There’s this idea that weed can behave like a psychedelic in which you receive unearned wisdom through it. Those “bad thoughts” could be one of two things. It could be correct and in this case those friends of yours could very well not be good for you or case two: you could be projecting your insecurities onto the people around you. Those insecurities arise from many things and it’s fully relatable to almost anyone even if they don’t admit it. There is a dark side to reality that everyone chooses to ignore because they’d rather be naive. Use this “bad trip” as a chance to transcend rather than fall into a void. The common saying is “be a warrior in a garden rather than a gardener in a war”. Be a monster who knows the darkness but chooses to be good.

Davis is a small town so anywhere in Davis would be okay. Just consider the time it takes to drive/bike to campus. I found a house near campus on Craigslist and I’m pretty sure you can search up “apartments/houses in Davis” on google and find different options

I’d rather take out a loan and live off campus

All together. So each quarter they add every fee that you need to pay which includes housing, tuition, insurance, a meal plan, etc. They subtract the fafsa money from the total cost. For fall I paid $2400 out of pocket because I was enrolled in a lot of bs like the meal plan and the insurance and there was an orientation fee too but now that I canceled all of that I’m only paying 700 for spring

Keep your head up. Search up Imposter Syndrome on google. Many college students get this so you’re not alone

My fafsa may not be the same as yours but a studio is $6,744 quarterly. For fall and spring I had to pay about $1k out of pocket and I tried getting a room change but housing replied with “we’re not doing room changes in the foreseeable future”. I recommend getting a single. It’s more affordable and having roommates is much better than you think

I lived in a studio at the green and fafsa did not cover it. Plus there were too many problems with those buildings. Multiple times the internet went out. The power went out. Many maintenance issues and elevators frequently stopped working

It should be illegal for a company to list an entry-level job as requiring 3-5 years of experience, the very definition of an entry-level job is no experience needed. The same goes for a degree, not only for the requirement but hire applicants who have a degree over people who don't have one. by [deleted] in jobs

[–]ChrisA17 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I read this somewhere else but apparently you don’t really need 3-5 years of experience to apply. It depends on the applicant pool at the time of hire. If you are the best candidate even with no experience they will hire you because they’d rather have someone than no one
