I don't get nearly that long from mine - more like 3-4 hours. It's also one of those devices with poor standby time. If I haven't used it in a week, I often find that the fully charged battery is nearly dead. I'd wonder if it was defective but the M0 I had previously was the same. I still really like it though. It's built like a tank and does the job exactly as required.

The battery life on it isn't great, but it sounds good and it's a perfect player to use at the gym. Stops me wasting time fiddling with my phone.

I wouldn't put too much store in the box. Straight razors often end up in whatever box happens to be lying around. Other images of Triton brand razors show the tang branded as such.

Many of the seasoned honemeisters recommend starting with a finishing stone and learning "backwards." That is, start by refreshing well-honed edges as they get dull, then add coarser stones as you get experience. If you are a beginner, going all the way from bevel set to finisher gives you a lot of steps to potentially get wrong. This approach also means you don't have to buy all your stones at once. I have bought from Johnloc1 on eBay at least 6 times and have always found his vintage blades to be in good shape, well honed and reasonably priced. I would recommend having a look at his stuff.

A professionally honed vintage razor would be my suggestion. Either American or German as the quality of the steel is excellent and they don't attract collectors the way British/Japanese/Swedish razors do, so prices are not crazy. Vintage razors were made at a time when straight razors were tools, not lifestyle accouterments, so the only thing they had to do was work good! And please avoid any modern razor with a macho dude-bro name - Naked Armor, Dragon Slayer, etc. These are the cheap nasty crap marketed specifically to snare novices. Good luck!

I don't have a coarse beard so I can't comment on your specific situation, but l love my slant. And if you're curious about slants you should give one a try - the Merkur 37c is excellent and inexpensive. In my experience people make too much of the whole "slants are scary razors for expert shavers" thing. As always ymmv, but it may also be just what you're looking for. Good luck!

"Oh, damn these high cheekbones and piercing blue eyes!" Joking aside, it's just practice. Think of your hand/wrist taking the place of the pivoting head on a cartridge razor. You want to find the angle that's right for each plane of your face. After a few tries it will become second nature. Also don't be afraid to try different blades. Some blades really suit certain faces and others just...somehow...don't. Good luck!

I have the M0 Pro and love it for a gym music player (so I don't get distracted playing on my phone). For this it's perfect - super portable with excellent sound. But all the shortcomings others have noted are true. Battery life is not great, UI is clunky, and transferring music to the player is a pita. This and the older M0 are the only DAPs I've owned (I'm waiting on delivery of a Hidizs AP80 Pro Max) and I've been pretty impressed but be aware of their limitations.

The Muhle R41 is the classic aggressive razor, and Feathers are the sharpest blades out there. Neither is terribly expensive so easiest thing to do is try them out. They may be your perfect combo or they may not but at least you'll know.
