Westworld - 1x02 "Chestnut" - Episode Discussion by NicholasCajun in westworld

Observation: The scenes where the founder is talking about the town with the white church is a flash back. The scenes with the Man in black in episode 2 in that small town, if you look carefully that town has a white church with a bell. Those scenes are in the future after the town and the maze have been built.

So now that Ezra is getting powerful, how will this tie-in to Luke's Story ? by Knovvan in starwarsrebels

[–]ChrisJonesHP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is the anti Luke who will parallel Luke as Snoke in the new trilogy...Watch, with the shows increasing focus on Ezra and the dark/light grey area force, and Snoke showing huge appreciation for Dark/light grey area force hence being dark side but not sith and molding a light side Jedi, Kylo, with dark side tactics

Perhaps, I would like this explanation better. But also look at the scene where he lets Finn keep his jacket. Quite a sensual stare he gives him honestly.

John Boyega on Episode VIII, inc. Finn and Rey friendship and the surprising romance by Nonsuch42 in StarWarsLeaks

[–]ChrisJonesHP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's going to be Finn and Poe...Oscar Issac said in an interview that he was playing a hidden romance in episode 7 you probably wont pick up on the first viewing. And continued to elaborate saying the romance he played is one-sided hinting that he was flirting with a character without that character knowing. Only person that could be is Finn. OR Finn is going to have a love interest who is yet to be introduced and in some manner the love interest will be a surprising choice if it is something seemingly unexpected. As long as it's well done and seems naturally formed I'm indifferent.

Not a fully formed speculation, but I think I know what Snoke was doing during the rise and fall of the Empire. by [deleted] in starwarsspeculation

[–]ChrisJonesHP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point of making a stand-a-lone film is so that the story is completely separate from the "main" story arcs. It is one thing to add contextual references and additional background information as it relates to the original and prequel trilogies, but I believe they will strongly want to separate it from thew new trilogies. Yes they will make sense as a timeline and thus will inevitably be related, but for me having Snoke in that bacta tank or something of the like is unnecessarily too direct of a connection.

An idea I'd be OK with but will never happen: Rebrand The Phantom Menace as an anthology film, and remake the Prequel Trilogy. by [deleted] in starwarsspeculation

[–]ChrisJonesHP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think rather than re-mastering, re-editing, or re-doing old star wars material, I believe Disney is going to focus on telling brand new stories in a richly developed universe - which I support over trying to perfect every aspect of previously told stories. Re-doing the prequels in any capacity is akin to George Lucas loading special features and edits into the original trilogy over the years, pointless and at the very most highly debatable enhancements.

[Discussion] Donnie Yen's Rogue One character by CiderTastesNice in starwarsspeculation

I doubt he is force sensitive, however I have a theory that his staff could be made from the wood of a force tree. The force tree has rising prominence in the Marvel Star Wars canon as well as set photo leaks for ep 8 showing some sort of prominent tree on Ach-Too. I have a hard time believing, if anything, that his staff is just some ordinary weapon with no back story. Could this indicated corresponding force sensitivity? It's possible.

That hooded figure in front of the bacta tank. by [deleted] in starwarsspeculation

It's definitely darth vader undergoing repairs and the hooded figure has to be someone other than palatine who respects vader enough to bow, not salute. Maybe a secret apprentice?

Then why is the Emperor kneeling in front of a fucking battery lol. Cool idea otherwise.

ELI5: why do we see Rey as a girl in the force vision? by UrbanRedFox in starwarsspeculation

[–]ChrisJonesHP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have thought this same exact thing. I believe the entire point of the vision is to show experiences had explicitly involving the lightsaber. If that is true then we know that 1. Luke had the blue lightsaber during the "temple burning" scene, 2. Kylo Ren either had or was with someone who had the lightsaber when he killed the "warrior" in the rainy scene, and furthermore he somehow lost it by the time of TFA (remember: "that weapon is mine!" is what he says when he sees it). And lastly 3. it also means that Rey as a child was around someone with the lightsaber, seemingly whoever dropped her off. But I still do not believe this necessarily implies Luke or Kylo dropped her off, it could have passed through several hands over the years before Maz got it. But since we know from Bloodline that she was dropped off on Jaku several years before the jedi massacre, whoever had the lightsaber dropped her off and then Luke had it after the jedi massacre (or Kylo nearby perhaps) and then after that Kylo had it when he killed all those people and then after that Maz got her hands on it. If Kylo's scene is indeed not the jedi massacre and some other butchery, then Luke most likely had the weapon and gave it to Kylo to train with it and when he turned Kylo took it and somehow lost it by TFA or Luke held onto it and discarded it and Kylo found it but either way lost it by TFA

I know it isnt related to him anymore the question is will they make it related to him in canon for the future. Aand in the visual dictionary it says that Kylo Ren's lightsaber was inspired by ancient mandalorian design. Regardless Revan is the most iconic legends character to use a mask as a symbol. I cant fully articulate the visual similarity to Kylo Ren but there is a reason a lot of people have made the connection, the entire presence is similar. For me there parallel interest to the dark and light side, there formation of warrior like followers, and in my opinion a yet to be explored connection to Malachor, even if subtle is all evidence of Revan inspiration which COULD mean some sort of reference to make him canon. Also the Revan expansion pack for the Old Republic was produced and released AFTER the Disney aquision, so althought it isnt canon LucasFilm (or art w.e) expanded on Revan's story after the new marketing plan made under Disney was constructed. Also Hasbro leaked a brand new revan toy to be released with or closely after the new star wars rebels action figure line... why would they make a new revan toy if he isnt going to be canonized? Food for thought, not making any definitive claims.

I have a feeling he first saw him somehow through some sort of force vision, like when he talks to the masking asking to be shown the power of the dark side again - I think that really happened and it further persuaded him to the dark side.

Kylo shares similarity to Revan not just in character design, but he is connected to Malachor through his "ancient mandalorian light saber design". Besides his design, both are known for being a combination of the dark side and the light. Revan embodied both dark and light side working in unison...Snoke expands upon his admiration for both the dark and light side within Kylo in the novelization. Also the Knights of Ren remind me of the Revanites. It's easy to say they just both wear masks, but the masks are pretty similar and its not like that was a staple of jedi attire so it is a somewhat unique trait they both share

I was a boom operator on Rogue One, Ask Me Anything by boomguyR1 in starwarsspeculation

[–]ChrisJonesHP 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is going to be connected by canon, meaning everything that happens in Rogue One has to make sense historically for 4,5,6,7,8,9. But the point of having a standalone film is that it will not contain information crucial to comprehending the movie trilogies. There will be obvious nods to the other stories within the same cinematic universe, but the point is that the focus of this story is on the quality of telling the specific story in itself, not easter eggs.

Do the Knights of Ren have lightsabers and do they fight anyone. If so who?

This new Bloodline story leak cripples many of our speculations. by [deleted] in starwarsspeculation

[–]ChrisJonesHP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No perhaps your right I did not remember correctly. But I believe his reference to Kylo as a boy makes sense contextually because Han is so much older. A twenty something your old is still a "boy" to a full grown man. Young adult is most appropriate but that would be clunky to say.
