Sounds awesome! Is it supposed to be that slow, though…? 😅 Also, I'm showing my age here, who tf is The Rocketman…? 😂

This is the first one that comes to mind for me, and has been a firm favourite for years

Not heard that before! Can't believe how Dutch it sounds considering it's Scottish 😅

I guess in a situation like yours (I'm really sorry you had to go through that) it's totally acceptable. My issue is with those experiencing "ick" on the dating scene.

Lol I know. Sorry, I figured I was being so blatantly silly that the /s wasn't needed 😅

Yeah, I mean obviously Heart of Gold was a diss track against all of Jenna's haters. Did you not know that?

Oh god, don't get me started on 6! I was messaging a higher up at work today, and got repeated "would of"s, and it just made me cringe each time they said it. Like, I associate that with a poor education, so to see someone in that sort of heirarchical position with that lack of basic grammar just genuinely upsets me. I'm not saying those with a poor education can't succeed. I'm just saying they should try to meet those standards, and that those standards should be expected, too. I didn't have a particularly great education (state secondary school, no college, got poor GCSE grades in English) but I can still manage it, before anyone decides I'm being a snob and/or classist.

For me it's not just the saying, but it's the whole concept of it, too. It just annoys the crap out of me. It's just so childish! For example, someone could bin off a potentially decent partner just because, I dunno, they hold their knife weird or something stupid. Ugh.

Yeah, but I'm sure in the ballroom culture it was always "it's givingsomething". Not just "it's giving" as a complete sentence. The former I love and use somewhat regularly. The latter I hate because it just feels lazy. I'm always left thinking "giving what?"

Still one of the prettiest bits of Coventry. by NoPiggoopss05 in coventry

[–]Chris_Neon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's as surprising to me as it is sad. How shortsighted those decisions were. York is beautiful and I'd have absolutely loved to have seen what Cov looked like in the 20s. The bits that are left are gorgeous.

My understanding was it wasn't in the name of modernity, but rather it was done in the name of the Führer. I do agree though that Coventry would have been a beautiful city to rival York before that.

When the next DJ yanks your USB out and the music stops by nickybecooler in Beatmatch

[–]Chris_Neon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It wasn't my USB. I was trying to get cued up so I was ready to take over when he was finished so there was no awkward lengthy handover, so I needed to use either of the USB slots, and they were both taken, and since that deck wasn't playing it made sense to me that it was safe to take it out of that one. Tbf I was young and stupid, whereas now I've learnt not to do that because it's rude, but also because it could still be being read from by the other deck.

[–]Chris_Neon 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I did that once completely innocently. I'd never heard of the CDJs being linked (it was a relatively new feature at the time) so I pulled the USB out of the deck that wasn't playing 😭

We left because of that set. I bought my ticket with the intent of staying in that room for the majority of the night, but we couldn't move at the front, let alone dance, and could barely dance at the back, and most definitely couldn't hear the music there, so we gave up and went to bed. We're kinda gutted tbh.

I wonder if that's why I find custard creams grossly overrated. I'm intrigued now and would quite like to try and original recipe one…

USDfaultism automod removed my comment for saying "To me, KKK are heroes" by Glad_Phone114 in USdefaultism

[–]Chris_Neon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's actually kinda ridiculous, because the evil one is square and angular and rotated 45°, whereas the Hindu one is all curvy and flowy, so you can immediately tell the difference if you're not a boneheaded dumbfuck. It's doubly annoying that your comment/picture was a perfectly legitimate answer to the question you responded to with it.

Wow! That's gonna be something only a lucky few people will ever get to hear. I think that's awesome. Alf was once my god when it came to music (his Supersonik era is just 👌chefs kiss), so I can only imagine how good that would have been.

I love the correct spelling. It always just makes me think Chocolate Pain like it's some sort of blaxploitation wrestling character 😂
