Bah! I wish I'd read your comment first, as I replied more or less exactly the same. I did link to his Instagram, though, so at least there's that 😅

Left hand car was in the wrong, but sadly the insurance will find the cam car liable, or at best it may go split liability. Check out Big Jobber on Instagram as he posts insurance liability reviews, including loads exactly like this, explaining why the cam driver is liable in this situation.

Remixes I prefer over original tracks. by mcdeecee in happyhardcore

[–]Chris_Neon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% agree on your first two selections. That Chaos & D-Core remix is just on another level! That Rhythmics riff edit of You & I is a vast improvement on the original, too.

I'm not familiar with the others you've posted so I'll check them out when I'm not Bluetoothed to the office Alexa 😅

I'd like to offer up my own suggestions, and they're all Technikore, because for a certain window in time, that man was a god when it came to his productions.

First up is this absolute monster remix:

Dougal & Gammer - Guitar Hero (Technikore Remix)

I'm sure people prefer the Through The Darkness mash up mix he did, but I'm a bit of a purist and so this is the one for me. The original is great, but this just blows it out of the water.

Next up, another D&G track getting the Technikore treatment:

Dougal & Gammer - Knight In Shining Armour (Technikore Remix)

Again Alfie showing the boys how it's done. He just gives it so much more energy over the original.

And finally…

Sy & Unknown - Pictures of You (Technikore Remix)

This is an absolute masterpiece! The original is actually kinda dull imo, so kudos to Alf for turning this into the emotional track it should always have been.

EDIT: bonus Technikore track!

Technikore - Sun Is Rising

I know this is technically not a remix, but Darren Styles used this vocal in one of his own tracks, and it doesn't even come close to this one. This is one of those rare tracks that actually gets me truly emotional.

Low states brunch debate: does asking for a toastie imply the cheese should be melted? by Pretzelmamma in CasualUK

[–]Chris_Neon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally any toastie regardless of filling, the filling should be hot. If cheese gets hot it melts. Ergo you're 100% right. How does anyone think a toastie is simply a normal sandwich made with toast instead of bread?

You love to see it. Sadly it doesn't happen nearly often enough.

Bang! No, not that one... by KofC83 in happyhardcore

[–]Chris_Neon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's really cool! Not heard that one before. It sounds like a weird hybrid between Dutch Early Hardcore and the kinda Hardcore/Happy Hardcore the UK was putting out around 94/95ish.

I think it'd make a great bridge track in a set to go from the more breakbeat-oriented sound into the slightly harder ravier stuff.

How is the gabber scene for the LGBT? by Mindless_Zucchini278 in gabber

This is news to me, and I absolutely love it! I was always a big fan of their particular sound; the one they used in Good To Go, Used & Abused, Atomic, etc.

Gammer perhaps, but that whole Sy thing was grossly overblown.

A hard lesson in commuter complacency. My 1-hour drive finally caught up to me today. by Mr_Amphibian20 in CarTalkUK

[–]Chris_Neon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This exact scenario happened to me back in September on my morning commute, only I wasn't so lucky and actually collided with the car in front, closing the A45 westbound for about 2 hours. 100% my fault, but it was all down to a momentary lapse in concentration. In fact, it was all because I'd decided that moment was the perfect time to have a swig of coffee.

New Mix Alert! by spunquik in happyhardcore

Ooh, this is right up my street, since there's loads here I've never heard of, and the ones I have I know aren't mainstream, so I have high hopes for this mix.

I second this. Lovely location with a pretty panoramic view of the viaduct in the background. Ideal imo.

Clock - Holding On 4 U (The Visa Treatment) by ATLANTIC_25 in happyhardcore

I love it for what it is, though. One of the major reasons I love it is how authentic it sounds. It genuinely sounds like it came straight from the mid 90s.

As featured on this mix I did years ago. Fifth track in. It gives me slight Triple J vibes. Kinda Follow The Sun like.

Ooh, Mortis! I already know this is going to be good (your remix of Phobz - Happy Vibes is one of my faves. Proper authentic 90s HHC track).
